A stunning 2-bedroom retreat on Mexico’s eastern coast, Casitas Corazon Number 3 looks out on the beautiful Soliman Bay, about 20 minutes from Tulum town. This inviting property also shares the use of an outdoor terrace with pool, sun loungers and hammocks, and has its own patio area.
With room for up to four guests, this beachfront bungalow lies on the Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Set over two floors, it offers an attractive living area on the lower floor, including a dining table and chairs, well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable seating area. You really can relax here, as you won’t need to lift a finger – a private chef is available to prepare your meals if required, and there’s a daily maid service too.
The property has two bedrooms, both with a king-size bed. The one on the upper level has direct access to a private balcony with seating. Two attractive bathrooms, each with a shower, serve these rooms.
With Tulum town within easy driving distance, you will have plenty to see and do. Famed for its gorgeous beaches and fascinating Mayan ruins, Tulum also offers a wide array of high-quality restaurants and impressive wellness venues. 
South of the town, you will also find the expansive Sian Ka’an National Park, while other excursions well worth making include the legendary Chichen-Itza and any number of wonderful cenotes – the natural pools which are among the highlights of a trip to Yucatán.The Riviera Maya’s big draw when it comes to yoga retreats and generally getting away from it all, Tulum is a North Mexico gem. Combining historic ruins with gorgeous beaches and excellent dining, it has all you need for a feelgood break.
You will definitely want to check out the cenotes. These are natural, sunken pools which offer an enchanting location for swimming, and there are many of them all over the region. The large Gran Cenote and the popular Cenote Car Wash are just two you will find around Tulum. You should also check out the warming waters of the Kaan Luum Lagoon, which has a cenote right in the centre. This creates a stunning colour contrast you might want to capture on camera.
Tulum has a host of beaches, with Las Palmas and Playa Paraiso among those you can just rock up to. Alternatively, you can pay for a spot at one of the many beach clubs. For a quiet time on the sands, the public beach Santa Fe is recommended.
Make sure you visit the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just south of Tulum. This vast site of more than 2,000 square miles is best explored on a guided tour, and offers the chance to see all sorts of creatures, including crocodiles, turtles and dolphins.
Another notable highlight are the Mayan ruins found on the cliffs in Tulum. The remains of this old walled city, including a clifftop Castillo, draw many visitors. There are many more ruins to see if you travel a bit further. About one hour away, you will find the ancient remains of the city of Coba, while Chichen-Itza is around two hours away. Once this was the most populous city on the Yucatán Peninsula, and a good amount of its structures remain. The well-preserved El Castillo Pyramid is the star attraction.
Tulum excels in much more than beaches and monuments – there is an impressive restaurant scene which offers the chance to dine in some wonderful settings. Prices are high at the top end, but you can still eat well for a good price in many places. The town has also become something of a wellness hub, with all kinds of treatments available. Look out for the Temezcal sweat lodges for a memorable experience, or bring your yoga mat and appreciate the serenity of Tulum at its most peaceful.
