This elegant villa is beautifully designed both inside and out, with stylish furnishings and a fabulous outdoor pool framed with a lush garden. Ascend the steps to reach the grand entrance with dramatic trees on either side. Located in a lovely area in Almancil, Villa Arias is perfectly placed within the Golden Triangle of the Algarve.
There are several outdoor relaxation areas, including a balcony with sweeping views of the Algarve greenery and a wooden shaded alfresco lounge with comfortable grey sofas by the pool. Colourful bougainvillaea cascades down the side of the garden, filled with plants and flowers. There are sun loungers by the private pool, which is an enticing shade of deep blue. Take a refreshing soak and enjoy the sunshine. For those who love to barbecue, there is a fire pit and even a heritage-style outdoor kitchen. The spacious living room has a gorgeous monochrome rug that adorns the glossy cream floor tiles. In the evenings, wrap up in the cosy throws by the antique-style fireplace and unwind on the soft grey sofa. Silver candlestick holders and ornaments add a luxe touch. Large windows ensure the whole living space is bathed in natural light.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with lots of prep space and a glossy black marble kitchen island. Perch up on the slick bar stools and enjoy a bite to eat. Guests can dine around the circular glass table indoors, or out on the terrace overlooking the lush garden.
There are five lovely bedrooms at Villa Arias, with a mixture of super king-size and twin beds. Beds are dressed in fine linen, and plush velvet is used throughout the rooms, which are decorated in shades of grey with elements of mauve and mustard yellow.
One room has an eye-catching zebra print feature wall, while another has pearly vintage-style wallpaper and circular wood furniture. Just outside the bedrooms in the hallway is a lovely communal area with a shimmery grey sofa, houseplants and a statement mirror. All bedrooms have luxurious ensuites; some have bathtubs and glass-encased showers. One has interesting corrugated-style walls and circular mirrors.
The whole family can have fun in the cinema and games room, which is complete with a little bar of its own and a fantastic pool table. Chill out on the extended sofa – the television even has UK channels.The villa is perfectly placed in tranquil Almancil, a resort village within the enviable Golden Triangle of the Algarve and close to Vale do Lobo. With superb views of greenery all around and a peaceful atmosphere, Almancil is family-friendly and stunningly beautiful. The villa is just 300m from a lovely gourmet restaurant and lots of amenities, including shops that are a short drive away.
The Algarve is full of fantastic golf courses close to the sea, with superb views and expert design. One of the most famous is Vale de Lobo, which was designed by legendary British golfer Henry Cotton. Guests can enjoy the sea air while playing on one of Vale do Lobo’s Royal or Ocean 18-hole championship courses. There are year-round tournaments and competitions and a Golf Academy, as well as a lovely clubhouse.
Praia do Vale do Lobo beach is a short drive from the villa, which is a discreet, under-the-radar beach perfect for those who love unspoilt landscapes. The beach has a backdrop of fabulous sandstone cliffs, and warm azure waters are ideal for swimming. Another fantastic beach is Praia do Ancão, which is regarded as the most exclusive beach in the Golden Triangle. Take a stroll along the golden sand and soak up the sea air.
Guests can take a boat trip to go dolphin spotting, which is bound to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. The dolphins are curious and interested in humans, so sometimes up to 50 can be seen swimming happily in the wild. Some companies even bring a marine biologist, so guests can learn all about the majestic mammals. Many other boat trips can be taken around Vilamoura, which has a famous marina filled with luxury yachts.
For a spot of culture in Almancil, why not visit the Church of São Lourenço, which has amazing blue tiles on the inside. This style is known as azulejo, and it has a truly stunning effect. The Baroque church dates back to 1730. Nearby, there is a cultural centre that hosts a variety of art exhibitions and hosts musical performances.
Just 10 minutes’ walk up a hillside is the Milreu Roman remains, which has an extraordinarily well-preserved mosaic in the form of a fish and the inner workings of the baths. There are even ancient oil and wine presses here.Vale do Lobo has a lovely atmosphere in the evenings, with late-night ice cream parlours and lots of cafes with live music.
