Although this apartment sits in a shiny modern building just around the corner from one of South Africa’s biggest shopping centres, the view from the window of Intaka Island and surrounding waterways is positively rustic. Given that’s a nature reserve, you very may well just spot birds and other wildlife as you sit out on the balcony.
Inside, the design is bright and contemporary, with a preference for cool metallic greys and stark white walls, plus a chic selection of furnishings. We’re more than happy with the size of the kitchen given the limited guest capacity, which is plenty big enough for a spot of home cooking.
Just in case that urge never manifests itself, you’re well covered for cafes and restaurants in the local area, not to mention boutiques and stores in the aforementioned Canal Walk shopping centre. The centre of Cape Town is only 12km away as well when you want a day of wandering between historic landmarks and contemporary galleries.
