This beautiful period home is right in the heart of Charleston’s historic downtown, just a few minutes’ walk from the colourful scenery of King Street. Managing to combine modern comforts with a sense of history, it’s a charming home with plenty of practical space for a large family or a group of friends.
The original wooden beams and exposed brickwork offer a glimpse of the building’s origins, while the contemporary design and comfortable furniture mean you can easily relax after a day of exploring the city. And while the living room with its fireplace is a cosy place to relax on cooler evenings, we have a feeling you’ll be spending most of your time here on the fabulous roof terrace – the perfect spot for cocktails as the sun sets.
Bedrooms are spacious and relaxing, with the top-floor suite with its sloping ceilings and huge bathroom being our favourite, hotly followed by the master bedroom, where sliding doors lead to a smaller bedroom just off it – ideal for younger members of the group. And for added flexibility this home comes with a real rarity – a separate ‘carriage house’ converted to form a self-contained annexe for up to two.
There’s much to see and do within walking distance of this home, including the many museums, galleries and performance venues that contribute to the legendary cultural scene in the city. And beyond the city limits, miles of sandy coastline await you at nearby Folly Beach, which you can reach in just twenty minutes by car.
