Situated next to the Tauro Golf Course in the southwest of Gran Canaria, Casa Platero is a private and intimate three-bedroom villa that lends itself perfectly to an idyllic and peaceful Mediterranean holiday. Situated just minutes from both Tauro beach, Amadores beach and the popular destination town of Puerto Rico, this charming, stone-clad property offers stunning views of the course and the mountains beyond and is bursting with high-end luxurious features that promise you and your guests a holiday to remember.
Casa Platero is set across one storey, making it an ideal choice for families with young children, older guests, or those with limited mobility. The interior is open-plan, bright and spacious, featuring a soft cream and white decor with accents of chocolate and rich wood, and has plenty of floor-to-ceiling glass doors, allowing in lots of light and making indoor-to-outdoor living seamless. The villa’s living area has comfy, sumptuous sofas – perfect for sinking into after a busy day exploring the local area or for relaxing before your tee time. There is a modern breakfast bar adjacent to the stylish kitchen that offers guests the ideal space for enjoying a morning cuppa or a pre-dinner tipple, and the well-equipped kitchen has all the high-end appliances, utensils, crockery and glassware you’ll need during your stay. This delightful space is perfect for rustling up busy breakfasts or intimate family meals, and there is ample room at the villa’s solid wood dining table for up to six guests.
The fresh, neutral decor continues into the villa’s three elegantly stylish bedrooms, each of which features a double bed and promises a relaxing and restful night’s sleep. Each room features ensuite shower facilities, with guests staying in the master bedroom also being able to enjoy a whirlpool bath. Only one of the bedrooms is accessible from the villa’s living area, with the other two only accessible from the garden terrace. This makes Casa Platero wonderfully private and intimate for two or more couples holidaying together.
The villa’s garden is idyllic, with a lush lawn area and a covered dining area and a barbecue that is perfect for alfresco meals. There are numerous sun-loungers and seating areas to enjoy and, of course, the villa’s private pool, which is accessible by ladder.Casa Platero overlooks the region’s Tauro golf course, situated on the sunny southwest coast of Mogan. The resort is celebrated as a year-round golfer’s paradise and is set among lush green gardens, lakes and waterfalls and includes facilities such as an 18-hole championship course with PGA maintenance standards, a golf academy that is suitable for all levels, a putting green and a chipping area.
Meaning, that ‘The Lovers Beach’, nearby Playa de Amadores, looks like a tropical paradise straight out of a movie, with its crescent-shaped shoreline, white sands, palm trees and turquoise waters. Set in a cove and featuring coral sand that never gets too hot, the bay is calm and well-protected from the rougher waves of the open sea. This makes Amadores beach an excellent choice for those who want to swim and paddle, although parents should be aware that as this beach is man-made shallow areas that are safe to walk on are limited.
The area is popular for scuba diving and snorkelling, and it’s no wonder as the clear waters are full of breathtaking beauty; however, we highly recommend heading to the east end of the beach to rent pedalos if you prefer to stay above the water! After a day on the beach, head along the promenade for a leisurely walk and enjoy the stunning views of the cliffs and shimmering blue waters. A morning stroll along the boardwalk will see people jogging or engaging in yoga and other sports, while an evening walk as the sun sets offers a more romantic and laid-back atmosphere.  
You’ll be pleased to know that there is no shortage of incredible restaurants in the region, and whichever type of cuisine you’re craving, you’re almost guaranteed to find it! From traditional Spanish dishes and seafood to European delicacies, burgers, steaks, pizza and vegan and vegetarian options, you’re sure to discover something to suit every palate. Webers restaurant, nestled right on the beach, is the place to go for tapas, ribs and burgers, and for pizza lovers, VIP Pizza always becomes a firm favourite.
