Located on Marbella’s ‘Golden Mile’ sits this thoroughly modern four-bedroom property. With views of the Mediterranean coastline and backed by the La Concha mountain range, Villa Paraiso offers tranquillity and easy access to local amenities in a brilliant spot close to Marbella. The open-plan living area is sleek in design, with tiled flooring and whitewashed walls creating a relaxing atmosphere. Elegant touches include potted plants, contemporary artwork on the walls, and chandelier lighting. A stylish dining table seating six people invites sociability, while floor-to-ceiling glass doors swathe the space in brilliant, uplifting light. Overlooking the dining area, cream sofas invite you to take it easy, and there’s also a large, flat-screen TV to enjoy. But on warm days, you’ll want to slide open the glass doors and step out onto the sun-drenched terrace. Off from the lounge, cook up a feast in the light-filled kitchen or slide open the glass doors and enjoy a morning coffee on the terrace.
A sense of elegance sweeps through the four breezy bedrooms. Divided between the ground floor and first floor, the rooms are furnished in creamy tones with the whitest of linen, and all boast glorious garden or sea views. Some of the sea-facing bedrooms even have access to a terrace, while all have pristine en-suite bathrooms.
While the interior is suitably striking, the outside is equally attractive. From the living area, step onto the terrace and soak up the sun on a lounger. During the day, relax with a good book, gaze at the lush garden or plunge into the swimming pool. And as the day draws to an end, enjoy a chilled drink on the lawn and watch as the sun dissolves into the sea. Although the villa is set in a residential area, there are plenty of nearby amenities. It’s a 10-minute drive to some of the best beaches in the region and less than 15 minutes to Puerto Banus, with its glitzy marina, restaurants, and bars.The New Golden Mile on the Costa del Sol is located between Marbella West and Estepona. Within easy reach of tranquil beaches, world-class golf courses, plus restaurants, cafes and bars, there’s something here for everyone.
There are plenty of nearby golf courses, and one of the closer ones to the property is El Paraiso Golf. Roughly a 5-minute drive away, golf enthusiasts can enjoy practising their handicap on this friendly 18-hole course and afterwards enjoy a bite to eat in the clubhouse restaurant with its mountain views. Equally close is the Atalaya Golf Club boasting two championship courses and a practice venue for players who want to improve their game. Other activities in the area include water sports at the wakeboard centre in San Pedro de Alcantara. A 15-minute drive from the villa, this enormous lake is a great place for water skiing and wakeboarding.
If you’re in the mood for a spot of retail therapy, shopping malls and supermarkets can be found in San Pedro de Alcantara’s centre, while beach lovers can head to Playa de San Pedro de Alcantara beach. Less than a 15-minute drive from the villa, the beach is a lovely place for a swim with its crystal clear waters and quiet shores.
The neighbouring town of Puerto Banus is also worth a visit and can be reached on foot via the promenade from San Pedro de Alcantara (a 40-minute walk). Alternatively, hop in the car and make the 15-minute drive from the villa. Once a traditional Spanish fishing village, today, Puerto Banus attracts the rich and famous and is full of star-studded clubs and shiny restaurants. Spend an afternoon browsing the designer stores, then stop at the harbour for a drink and admire the super yachts bopping on the water. Away from the harbour, be sure to visit the vibrant market in the bullring (Saturdays only). Here you can pick up affordable antique jewellery and local handicrafts, then afterwards enjoy some tapas at one of the many local bars.
Away from the shoreline and 10 minutes north of the villa lies the pretty village of Benahavis. Here, the more adventurous can try canyoning through the gorges, waterfalls and plunge pools, while those seeking more laid-back entertainment can stop at one of the Spanish restaurants and feast on a delicious plate of tapas.
