You can see the rolling hills of the Peak District from the high street, and heading out into the National Park sees you walking across wild heathlands and rambling up hillsides with beautiful views. Or, take in the scenery by steam train, which leaves from Matlock station.
Back at the apartment, the sloped ceilings in the stylish, open living area keep things homely. The bespoke shelves are dotted with pot plants and trinkets and the plush velvet sofa and leather armchair provide pops of colour against the white walls. We love the bay window which floods the place with natural light, showing off a view of the quaint centre of Matlock with the hills beyond. The window seat and table and chairs here make for a sunny breakfast nook. Make use of the local shops in the full kitchen. When it comes to hitting the hay, the bedroom is an ode to Victoriana with a brass-post bed and hand-carved wardrobe.
