Families or groups of friends looking for a seaside holiday escape to Seahouses and Bamburgh, will be delighted to find this wonderful house. It is a stunning, newly built, detached house that offers an incredible amount of space, beautiful furnishings, a lovely garden and a very inviting ambience. You are welcome to take up to two pets with you to Seahouses Escape so long as you are happy to comply with the owners requests regarding pets.
The house is a superb base to explore this beautiful, undiscovered county. In ten minutes you can walk to Seahouses’ harbour and village centre with its excellent array of restaurants, pubs, cafes and gift shops. You can visit Northumberland’s famous Bamburgh Castle, enjoy several local links golf courses and head to the neighbouring village of Beadnell to partake in a range of watersports. The spell-binding village of Bamburgh, the royal capital of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria, sits in Northumberland’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty enjoying a rich history. Bamburgh Castle’s imposing presence along the coast makes for a magical beach walk and stunning photographs. Another famous attraction of the village is the RNLI Grace Darling Museum, dedicated to Victorian Britain’s greatest heroine.
Seahouses Escape is beautifully presented throughout. It boasts two generous living spaces, a large kitchen diner, an orangery, a utility room, a games room and four bedrooms. It is beautifully chic, effortlessly stylish and totally immaculate. It is a private paradise for your next seaside getaway. The main living room is vast with stylish sofas adorned with scatter cushions, a Smart television for your Netflix fixes and a gorgeous feature fire for a crackling atmosphere. Doors lead out to the rear courtyard garden. The second living room also offers a Smart television as well as a games console, books and games for all ages. It is brilliant for youngsters who are tired after a busy day on the beach. The kitchen diner is just incredible with an impressive range of cabinetry, excellent appliances, a Smart television, Alexa and a central dining table. At the far end, the orangery extension offers comfy armchairs, the perfect spot for reading your holiday book and enjoying the sunshine streaming through. There is a handy utility room for laundry appliances and storage. The games room boasts a pool table, dart board, board games and Alexa. If you can’t find your young ones in the second lounge, they will probably be here!
The large master bedroom suite comes with a separate dressing room, a lavish super kingsize bed, a Smart television and Alexa. Its ensuite bathroom boasts a bath and separate shower. This master suite is absolutely perfect for long lazy lie-ins and total rejuvenation. The second bedroom is delightful with a comfy kingsize bed, a Smart television and Alexa. The next offers beautifully dressed twin beds, a Smart Television and Alexa and the final room boasts a single trundle bed so there is the option of using the trundle for an extra guest. Again it offers a Smart television and Alexa. The family bathroom enjoys a bath and walk-in shower.
There are gardens to the front and side of the house with a paved, secluded courtyard at the back of the house where you can enjoy barbecues, pre-dinner drinks and relaxing.Seahouses Escape enjoys a wonderful location just ten minutes walk from the pretty harbour of Seahouses. Seahouses is a colourful, picturesque fishing village with a bustling harbour, shops and some of Northumberland’s best fish and chips. It offers boat trips to the glorious Farne Islands where you can see puffins during the spring and summer and grey seals and other wildlife throughout the year. Boat companies such as Billy Shiel and Serenity will pre-book boat trips for you otherwise you can just visit the harbour and book a trip. It is a wonderful base for exploring Northumberland’s dramatic coastline. You can see Bamburgh Castle, the Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle in the distance. Grace Darling took a rowing boat out to sea from Seahouses and save many people and an RNLI lifeboat at Seahouses honours her with her name on the lifeboat. Seahouses’ fishing past lives on at Swallow Fish who have been smoking fish onsite since 1843. It is a charming village.
Bamburgh boasts fine dining, gorgeous shops, a fascinating museum and a dramatic, awe-inspiring castle. Located on the fabulous Northumberland coast between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick, the village has much to offer and is within easy reach of many of Northumberland’s charms. The village enjoys a landmark red phone box where you will enjoy astounding views, an ancient church and a beautiful beach. The castle views from the beach are amazing and you can walk to Seahouses admiring the gorgeous dunes along the way. There are many events held at the castle including ghost tours, dragon hunts, outdoor cinema screenings and music events. The RNLI Grace Darling Museum, dedicated to Grace Horsley Darling, tells the story of her brave rescue of nine men from a tragic shipwreck. Four years after the rescue Grace died of tuberculosis and was buried in St Aidan’s churchyard and money was raised to build a monument in her memory. The museum was set up one hundred years after the rescue but closed for a time in 2002 and reopened in 2007. The museum is located in Bamburgh Castle’s walled garden, the garden that Grace’s grandfather worked in. A place of worship was founded on the site of St Aidan’s Church in 635 by Saint Aidan who was called to Bamburgh from Iona by King Oswald to establish Christianity in his newly united Kingdom of Northumbria. The site of his death is marked by a simple shrine within the present church. The existing church building dates from the end of the 12th century.
Alnwick is within easy reach. It is famous for its historic castle where the Harry Potter movies were filmed. Under the Normans and for some time afterwards, Alnwick was the administrative town for the whole county of Northumberland. Today, the Alnwick District is famous for its unspoilt beauty and is one of the most picturesque areas of countryside. There are long sandy beaches, the Simonside and Cheviot hills and beautiful gardens. The Alnwick Garden is a very popular visitor attraction with its centrepiece being the Grand Cascade, a magnificent tumbling mass of water with an eruption of fountains sending 350 litres of water into the air. It also boasts an ornamental garden with symmetrical structured plants, a serpent garden full of water sculptures, a beautiful rose garden, a bamboo labyrinth which is a one way maze, a poison garden and a fantastic treehouse. Alnwick retains many of its ancient cobbled streets, narrow alleys and fine stone buildings of which many are now independent shops. The market place is the centre of local events including the Alnwick International Music Festival and farmer’s markets. The beautiful St. Michael’s Church was first built in Saxon times and later rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries. Barter Books is one of the largest second hand book shops in England with over 350,000 books to choose from. The Bakehouse Gallery is home to some wonderful contemporary art works.
The Aln Valley Railway is popular. You can take the train from the Lionheart Station next to the A1 and take the train to Alnmouth on the coast. On the outskirts of Alnwick you can explore Ratcheugh Observatory, an amazing 18th century folly with a viewing tower that boasts sensational 360 degree views of Alnwick and its castle and the Northumberland coast as far as Boulmer. Alnwick Castle is considered to be one of the finest castles in the country and the home of the Duke of Northumberland. Its magnificent grounds designed by Capability Brown are incredible. The castle boasts domineering medieval towers, a 14th century dungeon and amazing state rooms with paintings by Canaletto, Van Dyck and Titian.
