Upstairs, it’s a more muted affair with cosy, cream-hued serene bedrooms that allow those city vistas to speak for themselves. By day, come together around the long dining table for memorable breakfast times beneath the high vaulted ceilings – there’s room for you all. Then pad out into the garden and find a sunny spot to savour that second coffee (you are on holiday, after all) while kids let off steam (there’s a trampoline and netball hoop to keep them busy). At dusk, climb the winding staircase to the impressive roof terrace to fire up the barbecue and watch Bath’s lights begin to twinkle in the distance. When it’s time to spread your wings, mosey down to the centre of Bath, or jump in the car, and you’ll be there in six minutes flat.
