The Edge and Ficus restaurants boast Thai and contemporary Mediterranean gastronomic delights in fabulous, atmospheric settings. There is a multi-award winning wine bar and a beach bar. You can dine privately in your suite’s sala pavilion, romantically on the beach, by candlelight next to the jungle waterfall, in one of the pool island pavilions or, for a real treat, you can be whisked away on the Lady Sarojin private yacht and left on a pristine, secluded sand isle for a magical evening dining beneath the stars.
There are so many options for fine dining or barbecues and picnics. The Concierge Team also offer Thai cooking classes where you first visit the local markets choosing and learning about the ingredients, then under the guidance of professional chefs, cook and enjoy a delicious meal. You can also learn to intricately carve fruit. The catch, cook and dine experiences involve fishing for your supper, gathering ingredients from local farms and suppliers and then cooking and eating a delicious meal. Phuket, a rainforested, mountainous island in the emerald green Andaman Sea boasts some of Thailand’s most glorious beaches. There are 36 in all, including the stunning 11km long pristine, white sand beach of Khoa Lak. The island is home to many high-class seaside resorts, exquisite spas and stunning restaurants. Phuket City, the capital of the island, is brimming with charming old shophouses and busy, colourful markets. Patong is the main resort town full of party revellers in the nightclubs, bars and discos.
Phuket’s Big Buddha is a seated Maravija Buddha which sits atop Nakkerd Hills near Chalong. At 45 metres tall it is the third-tallest statue in Thailand, falling behind the Great Buddha of Thailand and Luangpho Yai. The Buddha is made of concrete and covered with Burmese white marble. It faces towards Ao Chalong Bay and is the main Buddha of the Wat Kitthi Sankaram temple.
The most important of the 29 Buddhist temples of Phuket is Wat Chalong. It is dedicated to two monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang. There is a large market selling souvenirs from the colourful stalls, and there is live music.
The Sarojin Khoa Lak Luxury Boutique Beach Resort borders five breathtaking primary rain forested national parks where you can take trips on the mountain bikes or for extreme rock climbing. The resort’s Lady Sarojin yacht operates scheduled snorkelling trips to the world-famous dive sanctuaries of the Similan and Surin Islands National Marine Parks. The scenery is absolutely stunning.
The resort’s yacht will also take you on trips around the spectacular Phang Nga Bay, famous for its dramatic limestone islands, cliffs and rock formations. The fascinating rock formations jut vertically out of the glistening, emerald green water and at low tide you can enter the exposed cave tunnels and discover the hidden lagoons.
One of the most popular excursions is to The Phuket Elephant Sanctuary; the island’s truly an ethical camp for injured and aged elephants. It was opened in 2016 by the British conservationist Louise Rogerson who later went on to open The Treetops Elephant Reserve, near Big Buddha Hill. Guests will be educated on the lives of elephants. rAt Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
