This building was once the town’s telephone exchange but it has recently been converted into an address that mixes comfort and elegance with aplomb. Rather fittingly for a state that has a sizeable population of Scandinavian Americans, the design takes influence from the Nordic states — we challenge anyone not to feel hygge when sitting on one of the faux-fur armchairs next to the crackling fireplace. The vast amounts of bare wood in the flooring and furnishings help with this impression, too.
The home’s in possession of a Peloton bike if you ever feel like upping the ante at any point, but there’s also a sauna and an outdoor hot tub in case you never get the urge. When you want to see a little more of the town, there’s a great choice of restaurants, as well as Telluride Historical Museum, lying within a three-minute radius of the front door. The gondola up to the ski slopes is only five minutes away on foot, too.
