With sensational styling and many unique, bespoke features it offers charm in big doses! Perfect for couples, the apartment was built in 2021 with the added benefit of a Velux push out balcony. Who doesn’t enjoy looking out to boat life and water? The apartment enjoys a brilliant spot, just minutes from the delights of this fascinating town and the 199 steps taking you to the famous and historic Whitby Abbey. Harbour Apartment is very stylish with touches of Orla Kiely and splashes or vibrant colour accentuating the dazzling white walls. Excellence Luxury Villas also features Whitby Apartment which is in the same building and offers two bedrooms. If you are taking a holiday with another couple or family and want some private time but to share your holiday with them, you may want to consider booking both apartments.
Featuring wooden floors throughout, plenty of beams and bespoke wrought iron work, Harbour Apartment feels a bit like an interesting art gallery full of lavish furnishings. With angles everywhere, the spaces have been brilliantly designed to give you a full kitchen, an atmospheric bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge with views and a cute dining area. It is such a cosy, intimate place to stay in a brilliant location.
Wooden stairs take you into this third floor apartment. Immediately, you will see the bespoke James Godbold wrought iron balustrades which are very attractive. You arrive at your viewing lounge with its push out balcony where you can enjoy the sea air and glorious harbour views. You can rest on the two seater bed settee or stand, looking out over the swing bridge and watching the boats or the night stars.
Glass walls and a glass door offer light to your bedroom which also enjoys three large Velux windows. Here you will find a comfy double bed nestled nicely in the eaves together with a beautiful dressing table, a colourful chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe. Your bathroom enjoys a bath with a shower overhead.
From the viewing lounge you take a few steps down to your open plan living area. Your bijou kitchen offers gorgeous grey cabinetry and all the appliances you need for your self-catering break. A bespoke wrought iron unit is fitted cleverly between the beams and there is a lovely shelving unit made from an original Bali boat. Your dining area is squeezed into another space with a large table and benches, all very stylish. This leads to the main living area with its two seater leather sofa, another contemporary sofa and your smart television. The Velux window here looks over the roof tops to the church next to the abbey.
Harbour Apartment offers a unique, cosy stay in the very popular resort of Whitby. You will make magical holiday memories here.Harbour Apartment enjoys a central position in Whitby, overlooking the buzzy harbour. Whitby offers something more than your typical coastal seaside resort. It is famous for its connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Captain Cook and boasts a Gothic culture. Its charming, quirky, narrow cobbled streets are brimming with independent shops and numerous eateries and pubs. The majestic ruins of Whitby Abbey overlook the town, just moments from the apartment. There is a monument to Captain James Cook up on West Cliff where he is looking out to sea. You can also visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and learn more about his life and time in Whitby.
You should definitely expect to encounter a hill or two in Whitby, not to mention the 199 steps to the abbey and St Mary’s Church. There are plenty of excellent restaurants including the famous Magpie Cafe where you will frequently see queues outside. This renowned quirky restaurant enjoys numerous levels and offers many seafood dishes as well as the delicious, traditional fish and chips.
Visitors enjoy classic seaside fun with crabbing, sandcastle building and walks along the pier, not to mention the amusement arcades. Just along from the main town and harbour you will discover the lovely sandy beaches of Sandsend and Runswick Bay. Sandsend was originally two villages, Sandsend and East Row. There are several delightful cafes for cups of tea and lunches.
The picturesque old fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay is just six miles south of Whitby . It is very attractive and definitely Instagram worthy with a sandy beach, rock pools, ancient fossils, narrow twisting cobbled streets and alleyways. You can easily imagine the fishermen and smugglers walking the streets hundreds of years ago. It is quite easy to get lost in the little warren of lanes lined with old fisherman’s cottages. Most have now been renovated. The village enjoys a good range of cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as charming, unique shops.
Staithes is also a picture postcard unmissable village, clinging to the hillside and boasting winding cobbled streets, 18th century cottages and characterful pubs. This fabulous coastal village was once one the largest fishing ports in the North East but now it is a wonderful hillside gem perfect for exploring Yorkshire’s cliff top paths and the rock pools on the small sandy beach.
There are many stunning coastal and country walks, cycle paths and 800km of bridleways close to Whitby. You will be amazed at the peaceful and tranquil countryside of the North York Moors National Park. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
