From the outside, this home may seem like a traditional suburban home. But step through the bright yellow door and you are greeted with palatial splendour. Chandeliers sparkle on the ceiling, Rococo portraits line the walls, and hand painted wallpaper, statement curtains and antique furniture tie the whole effect together. While the dining room and living room are sumptuous and grand, the kitchen has a homely, laidback feel, and is well stocked for cooking family meals.
Upstairs, each bedroom is bursting with character, one decorated in sultry black and gold, the other light and fit for a princess. Spend warm days relaxing with a book in the backyard, or swaying on the porch swing, cocktail in hand. If you need to get some work done, there is high speed Wi-Fi and a stately office with large windows overlooking the trees.
You’ll be staying in Inman Park, a leafy neighbourhood known for its laid back brunch spots, hip wine bars, and artisan shops. On the weekend, drive four minutes to Krog Street Market, a 1920s food hall dotted with independent stalls and a farmer’s market. Freedom Park Trail is around the corner, which you can cycle or walk down to see Atlanta’s best historical sites and outdoor art.
