Rent Apartment Lumber Planetree Santorini
Holiday Home Rental Description
Calling all wine connoisseurs – this villa’s for you. Dating back to the 17th century, this mansion was part of a former winery, and you can still see hints of its winemaking roots in the design. Cylindrical troughs once used for distilling now host unique lighting features. Elsewhere, cave-style bedrooms, white-washed walls and arched doorways leading to hidden nooks and crannies are as traditional as it gets. With two lounge areas and two kitchens, groups can spread out and get comfortable, all while admiring the antique furniture and pared-back style.
Our favourite spot is the walled courtyard, dappled in sunlight and bursting with fuchsia flowers. Floating in the dazzling pool, napping on the daybed, and lounging in the hammock is the order of the day. As evening rolls in, make your way up to the balcony and toast the home’s history with a glass of Santorini’s famous Vinsanto in hand, watching as the sun dips below the rooftops and vineyards.
Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of Megalochori – it’s one of the prettiest villages on the island, home to picturesque white houses, ancient blue-domed churches and scenic viewpoints across the bay. You won’t need to travel far for local tavernas, boutique shops and unforgettable coastal panoramas, as most of the village’s offerings are within walking distance (100m). For beach days, head to Paralia Vlichada – it’s just 3km away.
