Or perhaps today is the day for setting off on one of the numerous paths that criss-cross the verdant landscapes of this unspoilt peninsula, stopping along the way to admire spectacular vistas encompassing everything from rows of olive trees to pastel-hued villages and distant sailboats bobbing on the glittering Gulf of Naples. Or maybe the pull of the coast is simply too strong to resist, and you’ll find yourself making the nine-kilometre drive towards sublime Sorrento and its cobbled streets, exuberant piazzas, and views of the famed Mount Vesuvius. The emblematic Sorrentine peninsula – from Positano and Amalfi to Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and Capri – lies right on your doorstep.
No matter what the day brings, as evening rolls around and a silken cloak of purples, oranges, and pinks begins to settle over the villa, you may feel the pull of something else – that being an ice-cold beer or tangerine-coloured Aperol Spritz in the garden. Make your way through carefully planted flowers and herbs, your stepping-stone path lighted by intricate Moroccan-style lamps that lead the way across the lawn to a dining area complete with pizza oven, barbecue, and table seating for 12 under the beautiful pergola for an authentic Italian dining experience.
