The terrace of Sky Candelabra might not be huge, but it’s a delight – a little pocket of fresh air that draws you in for an aperitivo outside. This air of unflashy charm is common to the whole flat. The interior isn’t brash, but neither is it plain – the host, Maria Teresa, has cultivated a nice balance of decoration and restraint in the whole space. The kitchen is the only real letdown – you certainly wouldn’t want to cook a three-course meal in it, but there are plenty of restaurants in the streets immediately below.

*You’ll have to climb the stairs – there’s no lift
*The third bedroom and its ensuite are tiny and very basic
*Similarly, the kitchen feels small compared to the potential number of guests
*When we measured the wi-fi, it was only 6Mbps
*Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room
