The living room is the heart of the home – grand, majestic, and historic at once, its walls are covered in Renaissance art (don’t forget to ask the hosts about these paintings). The Altana is also wonderful (Venetian for roof terrace), why not enjoy it at sunset? Found right by Campo Santo Stefano, you’re within walking distance to many of the city’s most famous attractions – and the views are mesmerising too.

*It’s split across three floors – be prepared for some up and down
*Even though it sleeps seven guests, one of them would be on a single bed in the communal area
