Nestled in an elegant and traditional Portuguese-style building, you’ll find Apartment Paolina on the 3rd floor. Location-wise, you really are in one of the trendiest districts of Lisbon. Príncipe Real is a cool, contemporary and cosmopolitan neighbourhood, brimming with art, culture, food and lively nightlife. What are you waiting for? Book Apartment Paolina to get an authentic taste of Lisbon’s unique cultural charm and bustling atmosphere.Príncipe Real truly is one of the coolest areas to be and is an enviable spot in the city. An oasis for tourists craving a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of central Lisbon, Príncipe Real is an upscale and artsy area. Boasting 19th century magnificent mansions, high-end shops, and a lively nightlife scene, the name is literally translated into English as Royal Prince. It’s a vibrant cultural hub with lavish touches!
Speaking of royalty, shoppers will be in total heaven when they visit the Embaixada Palace, located in a stunning 19th century palace. It’s a renowned department store featuring local designers and concept stores.  If you fancy an afternoon tipple and bite to eat, there are also two restaurants and a gin bar. Foodies will be spoilt for choice in this vibrant neighbourhood. For a casual and delicious evening dining spot, head to ZeroZero, where you don’t need to book, and you can laugh the night away together on a large terrace enjoying a woodfired pizza. For dessert, try out Pascoalini Ice Cream bar, although be warned; many of the 100+ flavours are rather wacky, so you may have to be a little daring!
Príncipe Real is a truly scenic neighbourhood, with plenty of charming spots for you to enjoy a stroll and a coffee, or perhaps a family picnic. Be sure to visit the Jardin Príncipe with its gorgeous, famous tree that’s 20 metres wide at the top. Having impressively survived several fires, it’s a 150-year old cypress tree, under which you can sit down and enjoy the views, admiring the garden’s exotic plants and perhaps enjoying a refreshing drink.
For a bit of learning and history, you could spend an afternoon at the National Museum of Science & Natural History. One of the most fascinating museums in Lisbon, it features collections of natural history, science, and technology. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy a strict itinerary, simply wander around the quaint streets in the blissful sunshine, popping in and out of local antique shops and art galleries, and grabbing a bite to eat from a local café.
Nearby, you’ll also find the historic neighbourhood of Alfama. Once the whole city of Lisbon, this is a significant spot in Portuguese history, and a charming area to visit. Explore the area on foot and absorb the extraordinary views of the entire city from the hilltop. Another delightful neighbourhood worth visiting at the heart of Lisbon is Baixa. Get lost in its quaint, narrow streets and enjoy some of the local delicacies, including the famous Portuguese custard tart!
If you fancy heading back into the bustling heart of the city, your neighbourhood is only a short walk away from the iconic Avenida de Liberdade. Originally designed as a boulevard to connect Lisbon to the outskirts of the city, the avenue was built in the 19th century, and is today renowned for luxury shops, hotels, and restaurants. You’ll find many high-end brands, from Gucci to Prada to Louis Vuitton, as well as the largest department store in Lisbon, El Corte Inglés. Shoppers will be in paradise here, while there are also a range of more affordable brands to suit every budget.
Whatever your preference, your location has an enormous range of activities for you to enjoy.
