From the potted jasmine at the entrance to the seating on the wide verandas, the plot captures the city’s most quaint elements. Inside, nearly 200 years of history are evident, with a thick, exposed brick fireplace, antique rugs, and polished wooden floorboards. It’s far from fusty: pops of modernity come in the form of velvet armchairs, steel-framed beds and bright prints on the wall. While there’s no kitchen table, this spot is so close to King Street that we doubt you’ll have much time to use the small kitchen – you’ll be too busy bar-hopping.
