Mixing the Southern charm of its traditional building with modern, almost boho chic, interiors, it manages to be both old and new at the same time. And while it’s not short of character features – sash windows, brick fireplaces and that old favourite, the private porch – it’s also smart, comfortably furnished and enormously practical. With enough room for a large group and surprisingly flexible sleeping arrangements, it’s a great choice.
The first thing that strikes you as you walk in is the natural light flooding through from windows on three sides. Painted all-white and with abundant use of natural materials like bamboo and wicker, it’s striking and stylish. We love the open layout to the living space, keeping everything sociable. Three of the bedrooms can be found on this floor, along with two bathrooms, while the rest of the accommodation is reached via a separate staircase outside on the porch – which could be handy if some of you plan to stay out later than the rest.
Just a five-minute drive or an easy walk from the city’s historic centre, you’re just off King Street here, meaning great places to eat and drink will be right on your doorstep.
