With its retro-style furniture, kitsch accessories and pops of acid yellow, this funky beach bungalow looks like it’s been lifted from the swinging 60s. In fact, it’s a neat new build with one eye on the past. The casual, eclectic mood of this home fits perfectly with its peachy location on the west side of laid-back Folly Island. Grab your trunks and towel and take the short five-minute walk to the beach (just two blocks away) for white sands, Atlantic surf, and plenty of southern sunshine. Stick around for the best sunset in South Carolina, before heading home to de-sand. If you can tear yourself away from the beach life, the historic centre of Charleston is just fifteen minutes away. At night, the vibe at the local surf bars is something else but if that’s all too much, an evening on the leafy patio with a bottle of wine sounds pretty swell to us.
