Set on a farm, it’s got everything – old world authenticity, tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool that seemingly extends for miles, and cabanas and hammocks you’ll be glued to for days and days. Simply put, it’s bliss. You might not expect paradise from this 14th Century home, although it retains its historic charm indoors, rustic under wooden ceilings without being old-fashioned. But paradise it is, under palm trees and surrounded in a hive of agricultural activity; being produced on your doorstep are apricots, figs, grapes, oranges, and much more. You need never leave the poolside – but should you wish for a change of scenery, the cobbled streets of neighbouring San Rafael are worth exploring, a hive of local pottery and picture-perfect whitewashed buildings. A reminder that you’re on the glamorous White Isle.
