With its distinctive whitewashed walls and sandstone lined windows, the exterior immediately stands out. Step through the arched doorway and you’ll be taken aback by the beauty. Each room is impeccably designed and bursting with character – antique furniture, an ornate marble fireplace and thick wooden doors create a luxurious living space. There are plenty of spaces to relax, from the cosy TV room to the second living room with a chess board and a desk, for the more cerebral moments. Tiled floors upstairs keep the bedrooms cool – we love the white four poster bed fit for a princess.
Outside is a nirvana for nature lovers. Natural rock formations have been turned into water features, and lush native plant life flourishes in the garden. After cooling off in the salt water pool, there’s plenty of places to spend languid afternoons, from deck chairs to the day bed. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking up family meals, or fire up the bespoke barbecue and dine alfresco beneath the pergola. On top of all this, the centre of Barcelona is just a twenty five-minute drive away. Go for the day and visit Gaudi’s iconic cathedral before stopping for lunch in one of the many excellent tapas bars nearby. Back at home, there’s laid back restaurants and a supermarket within easy walking distance. Whether you spend your whole time at the house or go on adventures to Barcelona, you’re bound to have a memorable holiday here.
