You’ll love the charm of Kew Village, full of boutique shops, charming cafes and independent, family-run businesses. A mix of market stalls selling fresh produce and beautiful handmade crafts provide a slice of Sunday morning serenity on the first weekend of each month (except January), with local bands providing the soundtrack. Here, you’ll also find Underground and Overground links to whisk you anywhere in London. We’d recommend exploring the uber-chic neighbourhoods of Richmond and Chiswick, only a stop away on the tube. You can easily lose a few hours in the auction houses and antique shops, with occasional celeb-spotting thrown in. Walk forty-five minutes through leafy Richmond, and you’ll arrive at internationally renowned Petersham Nurseries. Don’t let the name fool you – this tranquil oasis is a hotbed of inspiration and offers classes in everything from flower arranging to cookery. The nearby river walks aren’t bad either. However, the reason we visit again and again is the legendary cafe. Dine in the glasshouse restaurant, brimming with fragrant bougainvillea and jasmine and feast on seasonal fare inspired by offerings from the kitchen garden that will have you returning for more.
