The bay windows and parquet flooring are also offset by a modern, fully-equipped kitchen and two luxury en-suite bathrooms. We loved the unique moulding on the living room ceiling, and the private terrace – an added bonus for London homes.

* Although elegant and comfortable, this home isn’t huge; with four guests the living room would feel cramped
* While there is a lift, it stops a half a level up from the flat so you don’t really avoid many stairs as the flat is on the first floor
* There is a low railing on the terrace so it’s not a home for those travelling with young children
* The second bedroom is slightly dark
