The building’s exterior isn’t quite so handsome, but that merely makes the wonderment inside feel more of a smug secret. Surrounding Clerkenwell boasts a trendy design scene and exulted coffee shops.

* One of the bathroom floors has a stunning limestone floor which is very susceptible to staining. Carol likes to keep it pristine by covering it with a less beautiful rug.
* The terrace doors are quite tricky to open and close. Make sure you get a proper lesson on how to use them upon arrival.
