Rental Description

Oasis of Peace is a dreamy two bedroom villa offering peace, luxury and beautiful scenic views from the slopes of the dramatic Sierra de Bernia. The villa is located in a beautifully kept urbanisation, El Riquet, in Altea La Vella, just above the picturesque resort of Altea. With magnificient, far reaching views across the hills and Altea to the Mediterranean Sea, you can relax in stunning manicured gardens. Oasis of Peace is a new villa built three kilometres from the beaches and main boulevard of Altea, alongside its sister villa, Heaven on Earth, which sleeps six guests. If you are taking a holiday with another family, it may be worth you considering booking both properties. A connecting door can be opened in the gardens. Oasis of Peace is beautifully appointed throughout and enjoys gorgeous outside space.
Altea is Spain’s answer to Santorini, offering charming cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses, crafts shops, artist’s workshops and atmospheric bars and eateries, a fishermans quarter, waterside dining and six kilometres of beaches brimming with idyllic pint-sized coves and dramatic cliffs. With its monumental backdrop of Sierra de Bernia guests are bowled over by its verdant views and stretching valleys. Though the resort is tranquil and nothing like its vibrant neighbour Benidorm, there is everything here, from the colourful fisherman’s quarter to the crowded promenade and Altea’s towering Church of the Virgin of Consuelo which sits on the top of a hill. Altea brings culture, cuisine, views and stunning beaches to the table. If you want to up the ante a little, you can get to the lively Benidorm in less than twenty minutes. Otherwise, to explore the area further, you can head to Calpe, Moraira, Javea or the astonishing Jalon valley with its beautiful flowering almond trees.
Oasis of Peace enjoys charming open living perfect for four guests. With a modern, fully-fitted kitchen featuring a gorgeous beamed ceiling and all the appliances you could need for a self-catering break and stylish dining and lounge spaces, guests can relax in modern comfort. The lounge area offers a fabulous feature fireplace with a wood burning stove, lavish velvet chairs and a sumptuous sofa together with Moroccan style lights and many other handpicked accessories. Old meets new in a wonderful way. The dining table is smart and elegant.
The bedrooms are comprised of a master with a fabulous wrought iron bed and a delightful twin, all beautifully dressed in luxury linens and gorgeous soft furnishings. Again, charming beams decorate the ceilings and the views from the windows are to die for. Guests share an exquisite bathroom.
Outside, the villa boasts manicured lush gardens full of exotic plants and various terraces. The upper pool terrace is a wonderful spot enjoying fabulous views together with luxury loungers and other outdoor furniture. There are towering palms and healthy cactii everywhere. The alfresco dining terrace is also delightful and very scenic. Oasis of Peace has to be seen to be believed!Oasis of Peace boasts a very special, scenic spot on the slopes of the mountains above Altea. The quiet urbanisation offers just a few villas, all of which enjoy seclusion, total peace and so much beauty in Altea La Vella. At the foot of the hill lies the utterly charming resort of Altea with its narrow cobbled streets, marina, shops and restaurants. Golf fans enjoy the luxury golf club Don Cayo. Oasis of Peace, along with its sister villa, is 3 kilometres from the beach and the main boulevard of Altea. Old Altea’s picturesque narrow streets are draped in colourful bougainvillea and lined with authentic whitewashed houses and unique shops selling crafts and souvenirs including handmade pottery and jewellery and artwork, all great gifts to take home. With tiny coves, delicious cuisine on the waterfront and a harbour lined with colourful fishing boats, Altea is truly idyllic. Altea’s long coastline offers a mix of huge swathes of beach and tranquil coves, all carpeted in a mix of sand, shingles and pebbles. The Blue Flag Roda Beach is near the old town, Cap Negret Beach is fantastic for watersports and Playa de l’Olla hosts one the Spain’s biggest fireworks displays during the summer. When you are wandering through Altea’s hilly old town, you can’t miss the beautiful 19th century Virgin of Consuelo Church. On the top of the hill, its cobalt blue dome stands above the gleaming white houses. Its interior is spectacular with gold frescoes and floral motifs. Just outside the church is a pretty plaza with cafes and bars. Most of the dining scene takes place on the waterfront with views over the Mediterranean. Altea’s fiestas include the fireworks of Castell de L’Olla in August and the festivities of Moors and Christians in late September.
Though there is only a small mountain between Altea and Benidorm, the Costa Blanca’s loudest resort, the two towns could not be more different. With neon-lit nightclubs and bars, Brit-style pubs and fast food joints, Benidorm is perfect for party goers. Half and hour below Benidorm’s neon glow, Calpe is a former fishing village that is always a hit with tourists who enjoy a dose of history alongside stunning beaches. It boasts Roman ruins, historic churches, glistening sands, a bustling seaside promenade, magical cliffside scenery due to its colossal Penon d’Ifach and tall buildings that light up the skyline at night.
Moraira is another old-fashioned charmer within easy reach of the villa. Nestled between mountains and vineyards, Moriara’s streets are a delightful mix of narrow, cobbled alleys and modern avenues lined with palm trees and fountains. Local fishing boats supply the popular fish market most mornings and you will have driven passed the lush orange groves and Muscatel grapes on the way in. Moraira boasts an impressive marina littered with bobbing colourful boats and lined by fine dining fish restaurants and swanky bars. The cobbled streets and market squares boast many cosy restaurants serving delicious cuisine, some of which are Michelin recommended. There are also two nightclubs for the party set. Moraira hosts a colourful Friday market selling fresh local produce, clothes, leather goods, jewellery and ceramics. Moraira boasts 8 km of stunning coastline made up of sandy and rocky beaches and intimate coves. The two main sandy beaches have Blue Flag status and are perfect for family fun. Playa L’Ampolla offers watersports, a summer floating platform with slides and ramps, climbing apparatus for children and volleyball at the rear of the beach. The beach is surrounded by a wooded park, palm trees and a small marsh, home to many birds. Watersports on offer include jet skiing, water skiing, deep sea fishing, diving and fun inflatable rides. The stunning Portet Beach is delightful with a sandy bay and rocky shelves with rock pools. Cala Moraig is a stunning cove between Moraira and Benitatxell. Cala Portitxolet is an idyllic hidden cove with stunning beauty and turquoise water.
