Occupying an idyllic beachfront location on the coast between Sandy Lane and Sunset Crest, Calmaro is luxurious and incredibly spacious holiday home set within extensive tropical gardens.
It’s hard to tell where the inside accommodation stops and the outside begins at Calmaro. The villa has been beautifully designed to make the most of its stunning surroundings, with huge windows, balconies and terraces connecting the interior and exterior. Through the décor and furnishings, there’s an inviting sense of palatial grandeur and traditional Caribbean style.
Enter through an impressive courtyard that’s dotted with exotic trees and plants for the perfect introduction to your secluded slice of paradise. The main living room is to be found under a partially-covered terrace, complete with impressive pillars. There’s more than enough comfortable seating for everyone to get together and enjoy this wonderful space, which is ideal for casual drinks before dinner. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table on the main terrace, with there also being a barbecue at your disposal. For times of quieter relaxation, there’s a study/reading room with direct outside access. The kitchen is a very generous size and has everything you need to prepare and cook meals, should you want to give cook the night off!
There are four air-conditioned bedrooms in total, with all being very large in size and each having an ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom is on the first floor and offers a king size bed and stunning sea views from its balcony and private terrace with a selection of seats and loungers. There’s another bedroom with a king size bed, with the third and fourth bedrooms having a queen size bed and two beds/king size bed respectively.
As well as having several dining and relaxing areas located around the terraces, Calmaro also features plenty more further into its grounds. Particularly charming is the gazebo set within the lawned, tropical gardens. It sits right on the edge of the garden, giving unspoilt views of the ocean. It’s home to a small dining table with chairs, providing the perfect place for breakfasts with a view. The main terrace is where the large, private pool can be found. Several sun loungers sit close by, so you can soak up the peaceful atmosphere that surrounds your villa.Calmaro enjoys an ideal setting along the coast between the exclusive communities of Sandy Lane and Sunset Crest. It’s an incredibly, safe, secure and family-friendly place to enjoy a holiday to this beautiful part of Barbados. Plenty of amenities, including shops, supermarkets and restaurants are all within a 5 to 10-minute drive.
As the beach is literally on your doorstep, getting out to enjoy days out by the sea couldn’t be easier or more convenient. Paynes Bay Beach is one of the most stretches of golden sand on this area of the coast. It’s less than a 5-minute drive away from the villa, so why not make up a picnic and spend the whole afternoon enjoying the soft sand and calm waters of this idyllic spot. The children will love swimming and snorkelling as you relax on a hired sun lounger and soak up the peace and laidback atmosphere. There’s a beachfront café offering a good choice of drinks and snacks, with more options just across the road.
The nearest main town is Holetown, which is around a 5-minute drive from the villa. The beach here is slightly livelier and features a long boardwalk that’s ideal for rubbing shoulders with locals. As well as having numerous restaurants, Holetown is also ideal for indulging in some retail therapy, with its many up-market shops. Folkestone Marine Park and Visitor Centre is a great place to take the children for snorkelling and getting up close to lots of tropical fish.
