Villa Half Moon Barbados

Imagine laying by the pool, looking out right over the ocean, the waves lapping on the beach as the sun reflects on your private pool – dreamy, right? That’s what’s in store for guests of Villa Half Moon, a unique customer designed Villa that’s situated on a ridge overlooking the West coast of Barbados – this location does mean that whole the Villa is overlooking the ocean it does not have direct access to the beach, access is a short drive away. 
The Villa boasts a half moon crescent shape which offers optimal enjoyment of the view from all rooms on the house. It features ivy covered Italian style columns and arches, adding an extra element of luxury and opulence. 
As you enter the home through the central entryway you’re lead into the open plan living room, which of course overlooks the garden, the infinity pool and the ocean. This is the ideal place to nestle up in the morning with a fresh juice and coffee as you plan your day, and it’s even more stunning come night time as the sun sets over the ocean.  
The rest of the rooms are dotted around the Villa, the master bedroom is located at the northern tip of the crescent, opening on to a small terrace that has access to the pool deck. The en-suite has a soaking sub and an open air shower – no shower you’ve ever had will be as glorious as this one. Two of the other bedrooms are also in the northern curve, each with an en-suite bathroom and an open air shower. If travelling with children it’s ideal to note the master bedroom can inter-connect with one of the other rooms in this curve.
The fourth bedroom and en-suite are in the southern curve, along with an open plan dining room, indoor garden and a large, well-equipped kitchen. Having the option to create feasts filled with local specialities adds to the allure, and who doesn’t want to enjoy a local meal while overlooking the ocean?
There is a fifth bedroom in a detached Cottage. This is available to guests, so please enquire if you intend on bringing a larger party and need that additional space.
The outdoors area is incredibly dreamy, taking full advantage of the unobstructed view. Whether you’re swimming in the pool, or topping up your tan on the sun loungers tha surround the pool; there’s something for everyone. Barbados is a dream – crystal clear oceans, sandy beaches that go on for miles and plenty of unspoilt, natural wonders to explore and appreciate. What’s more, the weather is equally as dream-like, with temperatures that are not unbearably hot thanks to the sea breeze you can feel the sun on your face.
It goes without saying that many of your vacation days will be spent on the beach, sipping your toes in the waters and catching some sun. Some of the most popular, must visit beaches in Barbados include Mullins Beach,  Gibbes Beach, Accra Beach and Paynes Bay. Many of these beaches offer facilities such as changing rooms, bathrooms, restaurants and beach bars, so you can stay on the beach long after the sun goes down.
There is, of course, plenty more to see and do than beaches. Head inland and explore a plantation, immersing yourself in the culture that is so rich in Barbados. You can also wander around the main centre Bridgetown, which is a UNESCO world site and the second largest town, Speightstown, the second largest centre is a quaint spot with architecture dating back to the early settlement of Barbados and is also well worth a visit. 
A trip to Barbados isn’t complete without some rum – for which Barbados is internationally recognised for – and also the local delicacy, flying fish.
