Villa Francisco Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
The upmarket Costa Brava resort of Llafranc is one of the finest on the coast, and this villa offers views across to its beach and harbour. The house is in two parts, giving guests an extra degree of privacy, and lies within a ten-minute walk of Llafranc’s village centre.
One of this villa’s most enticing features is the large outdoor pool, surrounded by a spacious terrace with sun loungers and a seating area. In the shade of trees with the ocean just beyond, you are sure to want to spend a lot of your day there.
The main house features a lovely terrace off the living and dining area, which leads seamlessly to an open kitchen. High-quality furnishings and lots of natural light make this space a real pleasure to chill out in. There’s a bathroom on this level and another, along with two bedrooms, on the lower floor.
There’s yet more choice in the second house, which has its facilities – a kitchen, bathroom and living room – and another double bedroom and a sofa-bed.Llafranc is a delightful resort which has a reputation for attracting the rich and famous, no doubt attracted by its peaceful character. It feels traditionally Spanish and avoids the trappings of a tourist destination. You will find plenty of local seafood on the menus at the, mostly excellent, restaurants.
Nearby, the villages of Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell make for easy excursions – just take a walk along the coast. Secluded bays surrounded by fragrant pine trees line this stretch of the Costa Brava, and Calella’s Cap Roig botanic gardens will enchant you as they make their way down to the sea.A little further, the larger town of Palafrugell has an attractive centre to explore – be sure to head for the Plaça Nova and the surrounding streets, full of boutiques and bars.Llafranc forms part of the municipality of Palafrugell, along with its near neighbours, Tamariu and Calella. One of the most charming and unspoilt stretches of the Spanish coast, the area has not fallen victim to over-development, meaning its charm and character has largely been retained. Its landscape and location makes it difficult for holiday companies to transport coachloads of tourists there, making it all the more pleasant for those who do make the trip.Llafranc is home to some fine restaurants and tapas bars which form one of the highlights of the Costa Brava experience. The coast is known for its great diving, thanks to both its clear waters and the intriguing caves of the submerged Llosa de Cala Nova mountain. Pine and tamarisk trees, from which the village of Tamariu takes its name, create a verdant landscape. The region’s cultural capital, Girona, is 58km from the village. The city’s cathedral, Jewish Quarter and Old Town make it a worthwhile trip, along with excellent art and film museums. Conveniently, Llafranc also finds itself roughly halfway between Barcelona and the French border. A drive to Perpignan or the Catalonian capital should take just over 90 minutes. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
