Can Cuixa is a beautiful eighteenth-century home with a modern minimalist interior, expertly blending the old with the new. Located north of Barcelona in Seva, the rural setting is ideal for those seeking a tranquil escape. The villa can accommodate six guests in its three bedrooms and offers wonderful views of the countryside.
Can Cuixa is truly a unique and special villa, the beautiful features of the eighteenth century home are showcased with charming wooden beams and rustic ceilings. This has been expertly paired with a very stylish minimalist interior, with white walls and dark furnishings the contrast is quite elegant.
The villas ground floor is occupied with a kitchen dining area and access through the huge patio doors to the patio. The modern kitchen is fully equipped to cater for all needs, and the large dining table is great for enjoying group meals. The corner of the room has a gorgeous feature fireplace, providing a rich warmth in the winter months. Moving up the exquisitely designed stairs to the first floor, the three bedrooms can be found. Two of the bedrooms occupy a large open plan space with a huge diving wardrobe separating the double beds. Further stylish dividers separate the luxurious bathroom. The final double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom; this open space has a very stylish bath and shower.
The top floor of the villa provides a lounge area with fantastic views of the luscious scenery. With a sloping ceiling, dark walks and soft carpet, this a cosy space to appreciate time with your loved ones. The small table and window bench providing lovely spaces to read or just enjoy the views. Outside the villa has further wonderful features to make the most peaceful setting. A small private pool is amazing during the summer months, offering a welcome chance to cool down.
The spacious garden has a luscious lawn that families will particularly enjoy, with plenty of space for playing and sunbathing. The patio area provides a space for outdoor dining; the stylish setting is private and seamlessly flows from the indoor spaces, offering an extension during summer months.Located approximately an hours drive north of Barcelona, Can Cuixa is in a more rural setting. With farms making up much of the area, it is a peaceful place ideal for those who are looking for a little tranquillity. The local village has a handful of bars and restaurants, with the neighbouring larger towns able to offer more amenities like supermarkets.
The rural setting provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the gorgeous countryside. With numerous walks in the area, take the chance to see the local flora and fauna as you enjoy country hikes. For spectacular views and a sense of the regions, deep history walk to the Montgrós fort. The ancient Iberian castle has an amazing past which you can learn all about on a guided tour; the tours require pre-booking, so be sure to organise ahead of your visit. 
A day to the beach is always a must when visiting Catalonia; the villa is approximately an hour from the coast. The closest beach is in the town of Mataró, with several beaches along its coast there is no shortage of spots to set up camp for the day and relax on the warm sand. The beach’s crystal clear waters are a joy to swim in and particularly well suited for children, with lifeguards and facilities readily available. The beaches along the town have lots of bars and restaurants, so you can relax and enjoy a cool glass of wine as you enjoy basking in the sun. The town is easily accessed from Barcelona and can get quite busy. If you would prefer somewhere a little quieter and rural, there is no shortage of options further up the coast away from Barcelona.
With Barcelona easily accessed from the villa, it is a great opportunity to explore the famous city’s incredibly sites. A trip to La Sagrada Familia is highly recommended, this spectacular cathedral is like no other. Its beautiful architecture and sheer size make for a wonderful visit, enjoy the ornate stain glass windows and vaulted ceilings as you wander through. Stay in the city for dinner and enjoy the amazing restaurants in the old town.
