Padstow Country Barn United Kingdom

Cottage/Gite/Farm, Luxury Villas
| 6 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

An isolated delight in the mesmerising countryside of north Cornwall, Padstow Country Barn offers spectacular and spacious modern living with breath-taking views.
The interiors are magnificently modern including the vast entrance hall where you will be able to drop your bags before stepping into the fabulous split-level open-plan living area, creating a simultaneously spacious and free-flowing social environment and yet distinctly separate areas. The kitchen is vast, with a large central island ideal for whipping up treats and feasts! On the upper level is the enormous living area, with numerous blue leather sofas and chairs centred around a lovely fireplace and a large TV. Alongside this is a large formal dining area, where you can indulge in these delicious creations from the kitchen, and try a little of the local wine, indeed – as local as next-door, perhaps, with your incredible location alongside Trevibben Mill Vineyard! On site you’ll also find a fantastic gym where guests may wish to keep up their healthy-habits!
There are six spacious bedrooms each fabulously embodying the refreshing and boutique style of the rest of the home, including four king-size beds, three of which have ensuite bathrooms, one double and one twin. Five of the six rooms are on the ground floor alongside a family bathroom, while the king-size bedroom on the first floor has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower over. Several of the rooms feature elegant lounge areas, for the ultimate relaxation and rest. Each of the four dazzling bathrooms has crisp white metro tiles and features delightful facilities including walk-in rain-showers and vast bathtubs!
And finally, step out to your extensive gardens which wrap the entire house and are perfect for every time of day and year, including three balconies across the first-floor! During the day you can sip cocktails in the sunshine as you gaze out over the never-ending rolling fields which surround the house, while by night you can settle in the soothing warmth of the hot-tub and enjoy night-skies like you’ve never seen before! This fabulously isolated spot in the far south-west of the country makes for unforgettably clear skies, with no light pollution (or any kind of pollution, for that matter!) The driveway can accommodate four cars, so be sure to bring one if you fancy getting out and exploring the far-flung corners of the county.
Surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, Padstow, just 3.5 miles away, is a charming fishing port featuring a dazzling harbour lined with innumerable fishing and pleasure crafts, and a quayside brimming with traditional inns and cafes! Huge skies, glistening beaches and wild flower-strewn clifftops are rightfully the lasting images of Cornwall, and its warm climate, amazing scenery, and diverse Celtic heritage, including the arts and its enormous wealth of archaeology, certainly justifies the fierce pride of its people.
Famous for its water-sports, in particular surfing and sailing, Cornwall also offers an incredible rock-climbing scene, off-road cycling (including the 18 mile ‘Camel Trail’ following the scenic estuary of the river Camel) and of course, walking. The South West Coast Path, which runs for hundreds of miles along the West Country southern coastline, is particularly scenic around Penwith and the Lizard in the far south-west, venturing through vibrant towns, remote cliffs, beaches, farms and fishing villages. Another incredible walking path is the 125-mile Cornish Celtic Way, mapped by a local 55-year-old clergyman, which will show you a wilder, even more romantic side of this luscious county.
Be sure to try a Cornish pasty and delicious sweet Saffron buns, and of course a little Cornish Clotted cream and Ice Cream! And for a local tipple, the three major breweries of St Austell, Sharps and Skinners serve excellent beer in pubs throughout the county, and because of its mild climate Cornwall has a number of vineyards producing delicious wine, and is even known for its production of honey wine!
Though the magic of the county really happens in the rural Cornish landscape, there are many enchanting towns in Cornwall. Some famous ones include: Bude with its excellent beaches, first class surfing and laidback, relaxed vibe on the north coast; Newquay, the surfing capital of the UK, and; St Ives, the home of one branch of the Tate Gallery, with white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
If you must visit a city (for a little retail therapy, or perhaps to see a show) the only one in the county is Truro, with High Tea at Charlotte’s offering an unmissable experience, in a charming Victorian building serving Cornish-grown tea! There are two covered markets, one of which sells eco/organic products, and on Saturday mornings there’s a great farmers’ market on the piazza where you can find local produce.
To get in, there are ever-improving roads and trains running right through to Penzance in the far south-west of the county, as well as Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY) about 5 miles from Newquay, or a 30-40-minute drive from Truro. The nearby airports of Exeter (EXT) and Bristol (BRS) offer a wider range of flights than Newquay and will usually be significantly cheaper. Car hire is available at all three airports. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
