Villa Llafranc Spain

Villa Llafranc is situated in a lovely tranquil position in the quiet estate of Aigua Gelida, just 1km from the lovely beach of Tamariu and 2km from the stunning beach of Aiguablava. It is within very easy reach of the beautiful, atmospheric town of Begur and all of its fabulous restaurants. Villa Llafranc has 3 bedrooms, including a children’s bunk room, so is ideal for a family.

Tamariu is an upmarket, classy seaside resort with plenty of entertainment and wonderful scenery. There are watersports on offer on the beach and boat trips from the pontoon. The cuisine in this area is wonderful, as are the wines. There are many vineyards which you can visit for tastings and to stock up the villa. 

Begur is stunning and has a reputation as one of the prettiest and most welcoming towns to visit in the Costa Brava. The beautiful Medieval village is packed full of Neoclassical mansions, fishermen’s huts, quaint bistros offering gastronomic feasts, cobbled streets and whitewashed houses, all below the ruins of its charming, crumbling stone castle. 

Villa Llafranc has a wonderful, fully enclosed garden with a lovely pool surrounded by loungers, deck chairs and alfresco dining. Conifers surround the garden, making it feel very private and secluded.  
Most of the rooms are on the ground floor. There is a charming, quaint open plan living and dining room with a comfy sofa, a fireplace and access to a delightful terrace with the fabulous countryside and mountain views. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor which share a bathroom. 

One is a twin and the other a bunk room, suitable for children. The master bedroom is on the first floor with an ensuite shower room. At the front of the property, there is a garage. 

Villa Llafranc is situated in a lovely position close to many atmospheric, delightful villages as well as stunning beaches. The coastline is absolutely fabulous, with many coves and rocks. Some of the best Costa Brava beaches are all within 20 minutes or so from the villa and include Sa Tuna, Sa Riera and Aiguablava and Pals. You have to take quite a windy road to get to Sa Tuna but are rewarded with a wonderfully remote beach. 

The village houses are whitewashed with splashes of colour from the doors and shutters. A coastal path invites you to explore the rocky coast and leads you to the next beach S’Eixugador, which is only accessible from Sa Tuna or by boat. Families love the unspoilt beach of Tamariu. It has crystal-clear water, showers, a diving club and a sailing club. There are some lovely beachside restaurants where fresh fish is always the dish of the day. 

Llafranc is just over the majestic cliffs from Tamariu. If you take a hike, you pass the delightful 19th century Sant Sebastia Lighthouse. Llafranc is perfectly proportioned, large enough to keep a family entertained but small enough for some peace and quiet. Thanks to the artists and filmstars that have visited Llafranc during the 20th century, including Salvador Dali, it is a pretty classy resort. 

Slightly inland, Palafrugell is a gorgeous, bustling town with a colourful, vibrant Sunday morning market. There are several good deli shops and some amazing restaurants. Calella de Palafrugell has a wonderful beach and is famous for the magnificent botanic gardens, Cap Roig. There are festivals and exhibitions at Cap Roig, and the views are stunning. 

Pals is another charming village where you can meander around the narrow winding lanes up to the small Gothic church of Sant Pere where you can soak up the 360-degree panoramic views of the distant Pyrenees at one end of the valley and the jagged peaks of the Medes Islands at the other. The Museu-Casa de Cultura Ca La Pruna dates back to the 15th and 16th century and is a permanent exhibition of Catalan wines and cavas.
