With a stunning view over the Adriatic, Villa Staro is located in Jesenice, to the west of Omiš on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast. This stunning 4-bedroom villa has some of the best wellness facilities you will find in such a property, including a pool, two saunas, a gym and a hot tub.
Accommodating up to eight guests, this villa is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful coast between Omiš and Split. There are numerous idyllic beaches in the area, the nearest being just 2.5km from the villa.
Spacious terraces offer you a range of excellent facilities, looking out over the crystal clear sea and out to nearby islands. Next to the infinity pool you have a covered area with dining table and lounge seating, as well as an array of sun loungers. It’s a nice spot to enjoy a barbecue, which is also provided.
Step inside and you have an impressive living area with feature fireplace, leather sofa and another dining space. The adjacent kitchen is equipped with all you will need, including a large fridge freezer, dishwasher and coffee maker.
Four stylish bedrooms offer large, comfy beds, plenty of storage space and an attractive en suite bathroom. A stunning spa provides the perfect place to enjoy a massage or beauty treatment, as well as two spacious sauna cabins. Fitness equipment adds the possibility of a workout anytime.
Pretty Jesenice is a relaxing place of quiet beaches and secluded coves, found within easy reach of larger Omiš and Split. Known for its wooden sailing ships, which these days offer pleasure cruises along the coast, it looks out towards the island of Brač, so don’t miss the chance to visit. Along the coast, Omiš is something of an adventure playground, with its canyon zip-line and river rafting down the Cetina a big draw for visitors. A playful take on its piratanical past makes it a great place for kids too.Omiš is a place to get involved and get active – it’s made for adventure on land and water alike. Rafting and canyoning on the River Cetina are everyday pursuits, along with cliff-climbing, zip-lining and much more besides.
You can discover more of Omiš’ history in the Old Town, a picturesque area with a dramatic cliff backdrop. Look out for some impressive fortresses and churches. The Fortica and Mirabella fortresses have incredible views over the ocean and out towards the neighbouring islands.
The town makes a lot of its pirate past, with themed events and attractions throughout the year. It hits peak pirate in summer, with battle re-enactments all in the spirit of fun. Children are likely to lap it up, and the entertaining Pirate Nights are certainly popular with families.
For something more cultured, the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas brings this traditional form of Croatian music to the streets in summer. This is one of the country’s biggest events of the year, and has taken place annually for more than 50 years. The sound of the gentle vocal harmony around St Michael’s Square is not to be missed, should you time your visit right.
Numerous beaches line the coast as you make your way in the direction of Split, Croatia’s lively second city. Be sure not to miss visiting while you can – sights like Diocletian’s Palace are tourist favourites for a reason.
