Set in immaculate landscaped grounds, the six-bedroom Villa Guira enjoys an enviable location on the Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo resort. Exhibiting considered design throughout, this property enjoys a view over one of the resort’s three golf courses and features its own private pool and sun terrace.
The centrepiece outdoor pool lies just steps away from the house and is complemented by a line of sun loungers at either end. Running parallel with the pool, a spacious covered terrace is furnished for lounging and dining, and there’s even a large comfy hammock to retire to after lunch.
The interiors retain the lovely view of the golf course, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling picture windows. The beautifully furnished living areas are impressive and comfortable in equal measure, and include a large dining area with seating for fourteen at the table. Two kitchens, one for the team of staff which includes a Chef and Waiter, provide all you would need to host an occasion dinner.
The expert styling continues into the six bedrooms which can accommodate up to twelve guests. There are King-size beds in four of the rooms, and queen-size beds in the remaining two. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom, with the master bedroom also featuring its own private lounge. There is air-conditioning in all the bedrooms, and much of the rest of the house too.
Designed by architect Francisco Feugaz, this very special villa puts you within a short drive of the resort’s private beach, marina and many sports facilities. Aside from the golf courses, there are multiple tennis courts, a shooting centre, polo, water-sports facilities and much more. Also, at Casa de Campo, you have an excellent range of restaurants, shops, a spa and gym – and it’s all within a few minutes’ drive of the international airport at La Romana.The exclusive southern coast resort of Casa de Campo has a lot to enjoy. There are 13 tennis courts, a shooting range and an equestrian centre, as well as three highly-rated golf courses. Water-sports fans will be in their element, with kayaking, snorkelling, deep-sea fishing and more. You can also go scuba-diving off the nearby islands to see the stunning coral reefs up close.
The resort’s beach club is the place to be in the evenings, with a relaxed vibe created by the resident DJs or, sometimes, live musicians. It’s a great spot for dinner – one of many options available around the resort, each one providing something a little different from the last.
The resort’s tranquil spa is ideal for pampering, offering an array of soothing treatments. A fitness centre offers classes and personal training sessions, while the marina is a lovely place to relax at any time, watching the yachts go by or catching a film at the movie theatre.
Casa de Campo is located near La Romana city, and just a short drive from its international airport. One of the area’s big highlights is the charming village of Altos de Chavon – a modern-day recreation of a 16th-century village which, unbelievably, only opened in 1982. This very special destination sits on the banks of the river and, as a guest at the resort, you can visit it for free. Among its attractions are an archaeological museum and a 5,000-seater amphitheatre there, which has attracted many of the world’s top musicians.
