Holiday Home Rental Description
Historic Chauffeured Tour of Surrey & Cotswolds in Mercedes S560e Grand Edition
Day 1
Visit to the home of Sir Winston Churchill at Chartwell, a great friend of Associated Newspaper and Rolls Royce tycoon Lord Beaverbook in both WW1 and WW2, and then, a visit to the interesting Polesden Lacey, home of renowned socialite Margaret Greville, who played host to a multitude of American and English guests. His Majesty King George VI and his wife honeymooned here, and there is an astonishing collection of art within a 30 acre garden and 1400 acre estate. The walled garden is a highlight. I recommend just dropping in here if time permits, no private tours are necessary as there are good guides in each room. Tickets will be booked as requested, one week in advance.
Then, a leisurely drive through the glorious countryside of Sussex and Surrey before checking in for your stay at Lord Beaverbrook’s Surrey home, now an award-winning hotel. Manor House deluxe rooms
8 pm: Dinner at the hotel
Day 2
Departing Surrey in the morning, the next 2 nights will be spent touring the simply stunning Cotswold area, filled with hills and picturebook cottages, magnificent estates and a superb reputation for some of the best regional food in Europe!
First, a visit to the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill at Blenheim Palace. Private tour of Blenheim with specialist guide David.
From the delightful bustling little town of Woodstock, drive onwards to the real heart of the Cotswolds, taking in the hilly streets of Burford and perhaps making a pit stop here. Iconic shopping at the Burford Garden Company for outstanding café, garden and homewares and unusual stylish clothing.
Bourton on the Water is a model village, the Slaughters are amongst the most famous and picturesque villages and from here, drive up through Stow on the Wold to the sumptuous Relais et Chateaux Buckland Manor. Very old honeystone and a superb outdoor swimming pool, near the famous little town of Broadway and also Chipping Campden, that gem of the Cotswolds.

Drinks then dinner at Buckland Manor, with former lady in waiting to the Queen and her husband.
Dinner at the hotel in the evening and overnight in a classic and deluxe room.
Day 3
No visit to the Cotswolds would really be complete without a visit to Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace and home to Sir William Shakespeare. Two-hour personal guided tour with specialist guide for New Place, Sir William’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, and also a visit to the home of his mother, Mary Arden, at Wilmcote nearby, and perhaps lunch at The Farm café, a local hub for regional produce, artisan foods and wines and the latest ‘go to’ for this part of the world.
From Stratford, drive to famous Sudeley castle, a 1000 year old castle in which church Queen Katherine Parr lies entombed. Henry himself, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Queen Elizabeth I and Richard III have all played a part in Sudeley’s story. Arrive around 4 pm to enjoy its 10 magnificent gardens and pheasantry. Then, at 5pm, after closure to visitors, embark on an exclusive 1.5 hour tour of the art collection displayed in the private rooms of the castle. Followed by a half hour drinks reception with Lady Ashcombe (subject to her availability).
Dinner and night at Buckland Manor.
