Villa Plato Greece
Holiday Home Rental Description
The elegant Villa Plato offers a wonderful sea view from its location on the outskirts of Faliraki, something which up to eight guests can enjoy. Contemporary interiors and a gorgeous private pool lend plenty of style to this 4-bedroom villa overlooking Anthony Quinn Bay on the eastern coast of Rhodes.
This striking, modern villa sits in well-kept gardens with palm trees and a large outdoor pool and terrace. There are many places to sit and enjoy the sun, or get together with friends over a meal, including a pergola with a large, stone-built barbecue. A covered terrace area has a dining table and chairs, and there is more seating on the upper terrace which offers an even more spectacular ocean view.
An open-plan living area inside the property gives you another place to chill out, equipped with large, comfy sofas and flat screen TV with DVD. Just across the room is a dining area, and the kitchen is adjacent too, with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and lots of other useful amenities.
The property offers free WiFi throughout, as well as a home cinema room and a gym area. All of the four bedrooms are equipped with a flat screen TV and two have en suite bathrooms. This includes the master bedroom, where there is a hydro-massage bath tub and separate shower, as well as a king-size bed and walk-in wardrobe. A bedroom with bunk beds is ideal for children.
Within a short drive of the island’s most highly regarded beach, Tsambika, Villa Plato is also close to Faliraki’s countless restaurants, beach bars and cafés. You will be well-placed for the popular water park, and all kinds of water-sports from jet-skiing to paragliding.
Virtually all the island’s top sights are within a 30-minute drive. Among them, be sure to see the Epta Piges, where the seven springs continue to bubble away, and visit the Lindos Acropolis for some incredibly extensive coastal views. The medieval old town of Rhodes itself, a World Heritage site, is another one for your list.
Set on the outskirts of Faliraki, it’s just 3km drive into the town. Faliraki boosts an aquarium, lovely beaches, watersports, scuba diving, an astronomy café, boat trips and lots more.
Hugely popular as a tourist destination, Rhodes is an island with more than its fair share of natural beauty and landmark sights. Easy to reach, with an international airport, Diagoras, about 20 minutes’ drive from the capital, it would be a shame to miss out on discovering its charms for yourself.
Rhodes Town is as good place to visit and lies on the northern tip of the island. A walk along the medieval walls of the Old Town will offer you some beautiful views, accessible from the must-see Palace of the Grand Masters. Part of a World Heritage Site, this is also the location of a fine museum which offers the chance to familiarise yourself with Rhodian history, extending as far back as the 3rd century BC.
Another museum worth checking out is the Museum of Modern Greek Art, with an eclectic collection only rivalled by Athens. The New Town area is visually appealing itself, with an Art Deco influence present in much of its architecture. Mandráki harbour is the home of Evangelismós Cathedral, where you can find some impressive frescoes.
The Lindos Acropolis is as spectacular as the coastal views it enjoys, and definitely worth seeing. Down the coast, you also have resorts such as Ammoudes, Kolympia and, perhaps best-known, Faliraki. While its reputation may precede it, this is not the hedonism capital it once was. A children’s water-park and the beautiful Anthony Quinn Bay may tempt you there during the day, and an aquarium and scuba-diving school also embrace the aquatic theme.
At the very southern tip of the island, Prasonisi’s location – dividing the Aegean and the Mediterranean – is considered prime wind-surfing territory. But if that sounds a little too exhilarating, Rhodes’ more sedate attractions like the Valley of the Butterflies, numerous wineries and the seven springs of the wonderfully scenic Epta Piges nature reserve, will provide just as pleasant a day out.
