Azurite Jamaica

Cottage/Gite/Farm, Luxury Villas
| 6 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Azurite is a majestic home brimming with vivid Caribbean flair, flamboyant and vibrant this unique abode is spilling over with charismatic charm, unpretentious style and that quintessential upbeat Jamaican feel.
Showcasing classic Georgian plantation style architecture, along with a playful twist by way of fun, bold colours – cobalts, teal, tangerine and canary yellow, this home blends traditional and contemporary in a way that is compelling.
Its commanding façade features the hallmark building-long sleek pillared veranda, offering an indoor-outdoor interplay, whilst the art-deco style balcony balustrades and chic jalousie shutters, arched windows and symmetry nod to the colonial style – a British Georgian elegance along with a tropical twist.
Just moments from the Jewel Runway Golf Course, on the dazzling northern coast, Azurite blends the best of a private home along with five star level staff presence, to cater to guests’ every need. Aptly named after the distinctive blue crystal this chic home exudes effortless style, covering off every luxury, whilst retaining that airy formality typical of the Caribbean.
With sea views, expansive lawns framed by swaying palms, stately banana trees, vivacious bougainvillea and hibiscus, a range of water sports equipment and access to the world class golf course, Azurite is an ideal option as both a retreat from the bustling crowds as well as those with an adventurous streak.
Or, for those in search of wellness and rejuvenation, with a gym, massage room, jacuzzi and glistening pool, alongside tranquil, secluded nooks from the Indonesian inspired garden pavilions which sit by the ocean with the sounds of the sea and trade winds, or the Bhudda by the water feature looking over the cascading yellow flowers of the beautiful Cassia Fistula tree, with a quasi spiritual feel.
Azurite is impeccably equipped when it comes to contemporary comforts, with a cable flat screen television in every bedroom, and a library of DVDS, it also makes an excellent party house, whether it be rocking pool parties or lively chef prepared meals on the beach, or an afternoon barbecue, complete with a wet bar and pool-side sound system.
The interiors at Azurite are both timelessly elegant, with those distinguished colonial proportions, handsome and gracious with solid timber, polished mahogany, gilded framed artwork and genteel, grown-up glamour to the most exuberant touches, this home is overspilling with personality! Those azure tones are a recurrent theme, and from canary yellow bedrooms to the sumptuous dining space offset by arched doorways giving onto the outdoors, to the teak and mahogany four poster beds, at every turn, there are island influences along with designer panache.
Twelve guests can be accommodated across six bedrooms, within generous proportions and several of the rooms offering ocean views, making a wonderful space for an extended family, group or a couple of families holidaying together.
Outdoor living is executed stylishly at Azurite, from the wicker style banquettes clad with a vibrant myriad of tones, to the sedate summer house for a more intimate spot, to the candy striped hammocks and sea-front pavilion, guests will hardly feel the need to leave.
Altogether an ebullient home, offering a secluded haven of gracious traditional style, cutting-edge interiors verve and five star comfort, Azurite offers a little bit of magic – a memory-making home.Azurite is nestled in the middle of Jamaica’s dazzling north coast, between Montego Bay (to the west) and Ochos Rios (to the east), in a spot named Runway Bay – named from its colourful history of feeling Spanish soldiers. Set not far from the spot where Columbus is said to have discovered the island, the north coast offers some key attractions such as Dunnes River Falls and Nine Mile; its diversity spans five star tourist hotspots to some less-trodden corners such as Cardiff Hall and Fisherman’s Beach, known for their quiet beauty, sugar-white sands and clear waters ideal for snorkelling.
St Ann Parish is known for being home to the birthplace of reggae legend Bob Marley, as well as its glitzy developments, crystalline waters and coral reef rich coast, whilst away from the tourist hotspots, there lies a fascinating, colourful culture with music built into its rhythms and craggy remote mountains through to tropical waterfalls and banana groves.
Dunn River falls, just outside Ochos Rios is a star attraction; a spectacular 600-foot waterfall that cuts through a dense emerald forest and spills into sparkling sea waters.
Thirty feet offshore, easily reachable by kayak, is the barrier reef complex that covers much of Jamaica’s north coast. Taking a kayak out to the live reef will offer a tropical treat of colourful fish and coral, with snorkelling in shallow water or deeper waters for scuba diving.
Montego Bay is an energetic hub of buzzing nightlife, downtown market life, duty-free shopping and parties galore; ‘Mo’ Bay’ (as it is known locally) is Jamaica’s second largest town after Kingston. When it comes to beaches, there is everything from the celebrity dotted Doctor’s Cave Beach, which has an 100-year-old bathing club, through to less showy Cornwall Beach, known for its tasty fried fish.
The north coast of Jamaica is the gateway to spectacular scenery once visitors venture a little from the resort complexes; sweeping cane and coconut plantations, rolling farmlands, mangrove swamps and craggy terrain ideal for hiking, or for a journey to a reggae Mecca, to Bob Marley’s birthplace where local Rasta guides will proudly offer tours.
Ochos Rios, or ‘Ochi,’ as it is known to locals, began as a modest fishing village, and today is a vibrant hub of slick shopping malls, magazine worthy beaches and buzzing nightlife. From white-water rafting to craft shopping, Ochi Rios is a charismatic melting pot of traditional Jamaican life and sleek tourist hubs.
Whether it be deserted coastline or hikes inland to hidden waterfalls, magical coral reef journeys, or bubbling local culture intermixed with shiny tourist hubs, live music or water sports, the north coast of Jamaica has it all.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
