Discovery Beach Villa on the beach is a coral yellow villa adorned with pink flowers and lush green hedges that sits on its own charming beach next to the waters of Discovery Bay. This wonderful seafront home possesses a lovely homely and inviting décor that provides the perfect base to explore the island from.
The villa’s elegant pool sits just in front of the beach and looks luminous under the starry night sky. A beautiful veranda out by the sea will be the prime spot for some breakfast under the warm morning sunshine or for having a refreshing drink in between dips in the water. Beside the pool on the veranda lies a bubbling Jacuzzi. So, if you wish to immerse yourself in water, you have the pool, the Jacuzzi and the sea to choose from. It’ll be easy to spend all day outdoors. Discovery Beach Villa has numerous lounging and dining areas outside – eating al fresco will be a breeze.
Inside, the home is filled with flourishing house plants and contemporary wall art. All five bedrooms are spacious and tranquil, and four of them lead outside onto a furnished balcony or porch. Morning coffees and evening nightcaps are best enjoyed at these spots while taking in the stillness of the island.
The home benefits from a traditional Jamaican décor and design inside. Soft tropical colours, attractive custom-designed furniture and smooth breadnut floors all complement each other and add to the graceful yet warm aesthetic.
The lively Ocho Rios is only 25-minutes away by car. The buzzing town sits on the north coast of the island and is a former fishing village. A cruise around Jamaica’s luminous lagoon at night with a guide is a brilliant way to view the island. Departing from Ocho Rios, you will see Jamaica in enchanting darkness. Guests will board a quaint little boat and travel across the radiant lagoon to Trelawny Parish. While on your night-time journey, you will be in awe of the millions of microscopic microorganisms glowing turquoise in the waters, which will be identified and explained by a knowledgeable guide. There will also be time dedicated to swimming in the lagoon’s calm and warm waters, before enjoying a mouth-watering rum punch – it’ll be one magnificent once in a lifetime and surreal experience!
Jamaica has a plethora of wonderful nature to discover and Shaw Park Botanical Gardens in Ocho Rios is a great place to start. At only a 40-minute drive away, the exotic gardens are kept in immaculate condition and showcase vibrant tropical plants and flowers. Led by a guide, you will walk through indigenous trees and plants, and by waterfalls, all while learning about the flourishing nature that surrounds you. This magical cruise will leave you completely relaxed and the stresses of daily life will be a distant memory.
