The stunning Casa Galante is a newly built villa in the captivating town of Obidos on the Silver Coast of Portugal. This deluxe, contemporary, south-facing villa is set in harmony with nature on the top of a hill, overlooking the lush, natural countryside scenery of vineyards and orchards. It is incredibly tranquil and relaxing and the perfect place for meditation or yoga. The villa offers modern comfort, privacy, incredible light and masses of space.  Obidos has a fascinating history. It became home to Portugal’s queens after Afonso II gifted it to his wife Urraca of Leon in the 1200s. Many of the fantastic buildings and monuments were founded or funded by a queen. The town is set on a narrow ridge with cobbled alleys brimming with artisan shops, museums and churches and decorated with colourful bougainvillaea. It is pedestrian only so you can meander and appreciate the beauty of this special town. The town is contained by the dominant walls of the Medieval castle which is 3 miles from Casa Galante. Lisbon is 50 minutes away.  Casa Galante’s stunning contemporary design is astonishing. With stylish, modern decor, fabulous, deluxe furnishings and striking artworks, the villa is seriously impressive. The free-flowing open-plan design is exceptional. The living area has fantastic lounge furniture and a feature wall with a gas fireplace. The wall is partially open to a further relaxation area, ideal for a quiet read or a morning cup of coffee. The whole villa is beautifully illuminated by whole walls of glass doors and windows. The state-of-the-art kitchen is sleek and streamlined with large appliances. Modern features of the villa include electric shutters, an electric gate and underfloor heating.  The five stunning bedrooms are minimalist in design and feature huge beds, walk-through wardrobes and fabulous, pristine en-suite bathrooms. They all enjoy excellent views. Naturally, the linens are exquisite.  The outside space of Casa Galante is astonishing. The sleek terrace boasts a gorgeous infinity pool with outstanding views and a hot tub for six guests. The outdoor sun loungers, lounge furniture and alfresco dining area match the good taste of the interior furnishings. The landscaped gardens feature lush lawns and architectural planting styles. There is parking for up to 5 cars.  Casa Galante occupies a very privileged position and is perfect for a tranquil, relaxing holiday.Obidos is a magnificent UNESCO heritage Medieval city with incredibly beautiful buildings and entertainment all year round. Obidos Castle is now a beautiful hotel though you can access the battlements and walk the perimeter walls which offer sensational views of the town, the castle and the countryside of vineyards and orchards. Notable exquisite buildings include Igreja de Santa Maria, Praca de Santa Maria, Santuario do Senhor Jesus da Pedra, the Municipal Museum and Porta da Vila. The Obidos Lagoon is a great spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are also opportunities for tennis, golf and horse riding close by. Obidos hosts many festivals and fairs during the year including the Mercado Medieval de Obidos, an epic event that begins in the middle of July and continues into August and the Spring Festival Internacional de Chocolate de Obidos. Obidos is also famous for its cherry-flavoured Ginjinha liqueur. You should try some when you visit the town! The lovely beach of Foz do Arelho is only 15 minutes from the villa, and there is also an excellent beach at the pretty town of Sao Martinho do Porto. The brave and skilled head to the massive, hammering waves of Nazare to kitesurf the mammoth waves. Nazare is picturesque and boasts amazing carnivals. The university city of Coimbra is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its ancient buildings cling to the side of the hill that rises above the curves of the Mondego River. The famous university’s ornate buildings are its crowning glory.  The Silver Coast offers incredible gastronomic feasts and excellent wines. Typical dishes are Arroz da Tamboril, a monkfish stew with rice, Polvo a Lagareiro, roasted octopus, Caldeirada de Enguias, a fried eel stew and ‘Bacalhau’, the famous codfish dish.  Other wonderful excursions from the villa are to Fatima, the UNESCO heritage monasteries of Alcobaca and Batalha, the picturesque Peniche, Cabo Carvoeiro, Berlenga Grande Island and the beautiful Medieval city of Tomar.
