As you step inside this exquisite home, you can rustle up a delicious treat in the enormous, classically charming kitchen with a fabulous central island providing tons of space for chopping and grating and rustling up drinks and snacks to satisfy your every need. The gorgeous dining area, meanwhile, sits right alongside this, expanding in a stylish open plan design which is beautifully complemented by the wall of glass alongside it, with doors leading out onto your terrace. And for relaxing indoors, your nautical themed living space evokes the calm of the seaside just seconds away, with several comfortable sofas and armchairs for you to relax into, centred around a fireplace and a large TV.
The first of five delightful bedrooms is alongside these lovely living areas, great for those who like to be in the thick of the action – with direct access to the garden through fabulous French doors, so you can rise early and step straight into the sunshine! A super-king size bed overlooking the garden makes this room simply splendid. A Jack and Jill bathroom with a glamorous roll-top bath connects you to the next door twin room. While up on the first floor you’ll find a second, superb king-size room, and another two twin rooms, one with bonus trundle beds offering fabulously flexible sleeping arrangements! Two further bathrooms offer tasteful and elegant spaces in which to pamper and preen yourself in comfort, with huge walk-in showers and bathtubs.
Stepping outside, there’s a superb patio area with sumptuous outdoor seating for sunning yourself and enjoying the sea air, with a bonus awning to keep the sun off in the heat of the day. The terrace sits amid a huge garden, stretching in every direction with a luscious lawn where all the kids (and big kids!) can frolic to their heart’s content. The dazzling sea is just seconds from the house, ensuring you needn’t worry about planning, directions or driving to enjoy the best bits of this charming county! The vibrant town of Aldeburgh with its quaint Georgian high street teeming with shops and galleries is right on your doorstep – so you’ll have tons to explore! We adore this location in the seaside town of Aldeburgh and we’re certain you will too! With its highly distinctive architecture, colourful boats and fresh-fish shacks stretching along the beach, is as unique as it is charming.
And world-renowned for its connection with Benjamin Britten, born in nearby Lowestoft but who spent the last 30 or so years of his life living here, Aldeburgh is believed to have inspired many of the works by the prolific composer. The impressive four-metre high ‘Scallop’ on the town’s Blue Flag beach is inscribed with the words ‘I hear those voices that will not be drowned’ from Britten’s famous opera Grimes which stand out against the glow of the Suffolk sky. You can even visit The Red House which Britten stayed in until his death in 1976 for an informal snapshot of the life he led here.
Just an hour from London, Suffolk is a fabulously well-connected yet delightfully rural spot for resting and relaxing and enjoying sunny days at the seaside. Starting at its southern border with Essex and stretching all the way to Lowestoft and the Norfolk coast, the 50 miles stretch of enchanting and often wild coastline of Suffolk has a little something for everyone! With charming villages, medieval towns and exquisite natural beauty all set against breath-taking skies it is a true feast for the eyes!
A maze of market towns like Bungay, Beccles and Bury St. Edmunds that dot the ever-intersecting rural roads amid the beautiful agricultural landscape and thatched cottages of villages, Suffolk embodies the slow pace of life that so many of us can only dream of. And yet, this county is rich in history, housing the grand estates of Framlingham Castle and Ickworth House, it holds the Home of Horseracing in Newmarket, and even endless attractions including the Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park near Lowestoft or The Otter Trust near Earsham with a huge collection of otters!
