Located right next to white sandy dunes and within walking distance of beautiful Praia de Antas beach on the Costa Verde, Villa Antas is a spacious holiday home that is ideal for ocean lovers.
Recently renovated with a contemporary finish throughout, the villa has a comfortably stylish feel and plenty of modern features to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Its position really couldn’t be much closer to the sea, meaning it’s the perfect place to come back to after a long day enjoying the beach.
This single storey villa has an open plan living/dining area, which offers flexible space in which to relax, socialise and dine. The living area has enough comfortable seating for all, with two sofas and two armchairs. Large doors open out onto the outside area. Behind the living space is a large dining table and chairs for up to eight people, which can be accessed directly from the kitchen through a partial divide. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a range of modern appliances to make cooking up some local seafood dishes a breeze. There are four double bedrooms, with two having an en-suite bathroom and the other two having use of the main bathroom. All benefit from a crisp, white design and tasteful wood accents, along with large windows that let plenty of light in.
Outside, there is a small garden area, barbecue terrace and private swimming pool. The garden is walled, so you can enjoy a dip in the pool in privacy or sit quietly with a book on the bench by the pool. A small grassed area is the perfect place to soak up the sun or cool off after a swim. There’s a table and chair on the terrace to give you the option of al fresco dining when the weather is especially nice.Villa Antas is mere minutes from Praia de Antas beach and convenient facilities such as a minimarket and bar are also within easy walking distance. Many local activities such as wine tasting courses, guided tours of nearby attractions, olive oil tasting and horse riding can be arranged as part of the extra services package.
Popular resort town Esposende is just a short distance away and has a larger selection of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Having a rich fishing heritage means that many of the local delicacies revolve around fish and seafood, with octopus dishes being particularly common.
The Cávado River estuary borders the beach here, which creates some beautiful nature trails to explore. History can also be explored in Esposende, with the Maritime Museum explaining how the sea has impacted the fortunes of the town. If you want to get involved with something little more lively, take to the waves and have a go at surfing or paddleboarding.
Viana do Castelo is an historic town just a 10-minute drive from the villa and is famous for its ancient monuments and sandy beaches. Its landscapes are typical of both the Minho region and the Costa Verde of which it sits within, with dramatic coastlines and lush countryside.
It also boasts plenty of history and culture, like so many towns and cities in this area of Portgual. The most famous attraction here is the Santuário de Santa Luzia, a mountaintop church that can be accessed via the funicular railway.
