Just beyond this is a classic white dining table, or you can dine alfresco on the table on the patio.
There are three delightful bedrooms at this villa. Two are double rooms with crisp white linen and royal blue bedding, while one has twin beds, with cosy neutral taupe detailing. Watercolour portraits hang on the walls, while all rooms have gorgeous sea views thanks to the full-length windows. Some rooms have their very own glass balconies, where guests can gaze out at the incredible sweeping sunsets. This delightful villa is located in Ayia Thekla, a coastal village just outside Ayia Napa. Beautifully serene, this area on the southeastern coast of Cyprus has a reputation as a party town, but Ayia Napa is also overflowing with rich history and culture. In the centre of town, there is an ancient monastery with a beautiful garden surrounding it and a medieval Byzantine church made from honey-coloured limestone and even a secret cave.
Cyprus boasts dazzling white sand beaches and impossibly blue water, while there’s hiking, museums and ancient ruins to explore inland, not to mention tons of delicious food! In Ayia Napa you’ll find a great variety of restaurants and folklore evenings as well as an exciting nightlife.
The closest beach to the villa is Ayia Thekla beach, just 3km away, and Ayia Napa is home to some of Cyprus’ most wonderful beaches. This gorgeous beach is named after the church that has stood here proudly for centuries. The beach has beautiful powdery soft sand – perfect for a walk along the coastline. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean Sea to cool off from the heat.
Nissi beach is also nearby, with fine white sand and a hundred swirling shades of blue and green sea. You can try out watersports here, including windsurfing, parasailing or kitesurfing. Alternatively, this area by Nissi is an excellent introduction to scuba diving, as the coral reefs around Corfu are absolutely mesmerising.
Another exciting day trip in this area is Cape Greco National Park, with its amazing coastal views and superb hiking trails such as Aphrodite’s Nature Trail. The most famous attraction in Cape Greco is the Sea Caves, encompassing strange rock formations that have formed natural caverns, nooks and crannies popular with divers. You can swim in the shallow, crystalline water here.
Take a day trip to Paphos for a great insight into Cyprus’ culture and tumultuous history – this island is one of the oldest civilisations in the Mediterranean area. At the Tombs of the Kings, discover extraordinarily well preserved tombs and intricate Roman ruins. Interestingly the name does not relate to royalty – it comes from how grand the underground chambers and tombs were.
In Paphos, make a pilgrimage to visit Aphrodite’s Rock. Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, is said to have been born from the sea foam in Paphos. According to Greek mythology, If you swim around the rock three times you will be blessed with true love, eternal youth, beauty, good fortune and fertility. Just be aware that the sea here is choppy and you can see Aphrodite’s Rock from the beach. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
