Sea-view villas with private pools on the greenest of the Greek islands, from the north-east coast to Paleokastritsa
As featured in
Corfu is the greenest of the Greek islands, covered in olive groves and cypress trees, and the most cosmopolitan, shaped by four centuries of Venetian rule, a brief French period and fifty years as a British protectorate. Corfu Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and cricket is still played on its great square. It is also the island the Durrell family made famous, and its north-east coast has been a favourite with British families ever since.
Our Corfu collection runs to 290+ villas, from stone houses above the coves of the north-east coast to contemporary villas with infinity pools facing the mountains of Albania across the strait.
Here is where to stay, when to go and what to do.

Corfu Town has two Venetian fortresses, a maze of lanes and the Liston, an arcade built by the French and modelled on the Rue de Rivoli, facing the Spianada where cricket is played on summer weekends. South of town, the Achilleion palace was built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria.

The north-east coast, looking across the strait to Albania, is the classic villa coast: pebble coves with clear water, harbour tavernas and villas among the olive trees. Kalami, where Lawrence Durrell lived in the White House in the 1930s, Agios Stefanos and Kassiopi are among the loveliest spots.

Corfiot food shows its Venetian past, with dishes such as sofrito, veal cooked with garlic and vinegar, and pastitsada, a spiced beef stew. The season runs from May to October, and a boat for the day to explore the coves, or to visit the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, is a highlight of any stay. Our concierge can arrange boats, a private chef and transfers.
