Villa Listra Cyprus
Holiday Home Rental Description
Nestled in a peaceful corner of Cyprus, villa Listra is perfect for those who like to escape for some sun-soaked relaxation time. Villa Listra’s architectural layout is visually fascinating, in the form of grid design, made from a mixture of crisp white walls, natural wood and brickwork, all tied together with a wall of glass. Detached with four bedrooms and spread over two floors, the villa has glass-framed balconies and classic yet modern interiors.
The pool is a refreshing oasis of calm and a respite from the summer sunshine. Take a refreshing dip to cool down and float peacefully in the azure water. Bordered on one side by a small lawn and with a convenient outdoor shower, the pool area has everything you need to keep the whole family happy.
The open plan living space is decorated in top-to-toe white and features a plush, anthracite sofa to sink into dotted with colourful cushions. There is contemporary art that brightens up the fresh white walls and a satellite flatscreen television for relaxing after a long day exploring the island.
There is a multitude of areas to dine and unwind around the property. Just beyond the living area, there is a sleek dining table and sliding doors open to reveal an alfresco option with stylish chocolate coloured rattan chairs. Rustle up a feast on the barbecue or prepare a home cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen. There’s even a dishwasher, so there should be no squabbles over washing up!
Two charming double bedrooms have textured unfinished wood furniture and an enormous amount of wardrobe space. Bathed in sunlight thanks to the windows that span from floor to ceiling, these rooms are breezy and beautiful. Open the doors to access your very own private balcony with views over the glittering Mediterranean Sea.
The beds, dressed in white linen with navy accents, are perfect for sinking into and switching off after a long day. Another room with twin beds has white and taupe bedding, with a navy backdrop. Watercolour art adorns the wall and adds character. This lovely villa is situated in Ayia Thekla, a village on the outskirts of Ayia Napa. Tranquil and serene, this area on the southeastern coast of Cyprus has a reputation as a party destination, but Ayia Napa is also overflowing with rich history and culture. In the centre of town, there is an ancient monastery with a beautiful garden surrounding it and a medieval church. Made from honey-coloured limestone with Byzantine influences, this monastery even has a secret ave.
Cyprus as a whole is dotted with lush vineyards, mountains and meadows of wildflowers. Of course, the island boasts dazzling white sand beaches and impossibly blue water, while there’s hiking, museums and ancient ruins to explore inland. In Ayia Napa you’ll find a great variety of restaurants and bars as well as a buzzing nightlife.
The closest beach to the villa is just 3km away, and Ayia Napa is home to some of Cyprus’ most wonderful beaches. Ayia Thekla beach is named after the church that has stood here proudly for centuries. The beach is picturesque, tranquil and family-friendly. Take a stroll along the golden sand and enjoy a refreshing swim in the turquoise Mediterranean Sea.Nissi beach is also near to the villa, with fine white sand and a hundred swirling shades of blue and green sea. The beach is also famous for its watersports – try windsurfing, parasailing or kitesurfing. Alternatively, this area is an excellent introduction to scuba diving; the coral reefs around Corfu are absolutely stunning.
Another exciting stop in this area is Cape Greco National Park. The park boasts sublime hiking trails such as Aphrodite’s Nature Trail with stunning views over the coastline below. The most famous attraction in Cape Greco are the Sea Caves, featuring strange rock formations that have formed natural cavities, nooks and crannies that divers adore. You can swim in the shallow, crystal clear water here.
Take a day trip to Paphos for a great insight into Cyprus’ culture and tumultuous history – this island is one of the oldest civilisations in the Mediterranean area. There’s a huge variety of attractions to see and do in Paphos. At the Tombs of the Kings, discover extraordinarily well preserved tombs and Roman ruins with mosaics. Interestingly the name has nothing to do with royalty but were named after how impressive the underground chambers and tombs were.
Food is linked to every social event in Cyprus, from everyday dinners to festival dishes. With influences from Greece and the Middle East and reminders of past civiliations like Roman root vegetables, the food is tasty and fresh. The best way to start is with a traditional meze platte, sampling clay cooked and braised meats alongside dips like tahini. Famously, Cyprus is where halloumi originates, grilled or barbecued to perfection and served with pitta bread, salad and a side of hummus. For dessert, try some syrupy and flaky baklava.
