Historically a sugar plantation, the Cap Estate is located on the most northern tip of the Island, encompassing 1,500 acres of rolling hills, sitting perfectly between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, offering the region’s most spectacular views. For the golf fanatics amongst you, a fantastic 18-hole course can be found right on your doorstep. And with two gorgeous beaches within easy walking distance, and glorious Pigeon Island just 3km away, you won’t have to go far to dip your toes into the glistening waters of the Caribbean.
The villa itself, the largest private dwelling on the estate, is perched proudly atop a beautiful hillside, optimising those stunning views out over the Caribbean. Yet being surrounded by lush tropical gardens, guests will love its quiet tranquillity. With nine fabulous bedrooms, and several wonderful living areas set over two floors, this former embassy offers guests the perfect space to relax and unwind, whether it be a wedding, birthday, business retreat or family holiday. The villa benefits from an on-site cook and fully catered packages are available for an additional fee, providing a chef, driver and guest coordinator to ensure a memorable stay here at Cap Hillsde Villa.
The villa exudes lovely traditional Caribbean architecture and design, with interiors providing a classic combination of light tiled floors, dark wooden trim and bright neutral colour on the walls. On the ground floor guests will enjoy a large wooden open-air deck and bar area, with an amass of comfortable seating with stunning views out over the ocean, a fantastic spot in which to entertain friends or family late into the night. You’ll also find five delightful bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning on the ground floor. There are two double bedrooms, two with two double beds and finally a room with three double beds, providing a lovely selection to cater for large groups of friends or family. Two of the rooms have interconnecting doors, enabling parents to keep an eye on little ones if necessary.
The charming expanse upstairs at Cap Hillside villa houses a tremendous dining room with views out over the Atlantic Ocean as well as the remaining four double bedrooms with en-suites, all benefiting from the same tasteful traditional décor as the rooms downstairs. The spectacular bridal/ master suite offers guests a beautiful king size four poster bed, lovely wooden finishes, and if you’re looking to relax in the open air, a hammock on your balcony will ensure you can enjoy the cool breeze and uninterrupted ocean views in total privacy.
The outside space here is a secluded haven of luscious fauna and flora, and with a fantastic pool you and your family or group of friends can really make a splash on those long afternoons under the hot St Lucian sun. The newly added sunset deck which extends the bar area is the perfect spot to enjoy that sundown rum cocktail while you watch the warm colours descend onto the horizon. And dining al fresco out on the decking is an absolute must, making use of the barbecue to cook up some delicious local specialities, chatting late into the evening as another fantastic day here in beautiful St Lucia draws to a close.

With an 18-hole golf course, beautiful coastal walks and two idyllic beaches right on your doorstep you won’t have to go far to enjoy a variety of activities.
Your nearest beach at Cap Maison, known as “Smugglers Cove” has a fantastic variety of complimentary non-motorized water sports to entertain the big and little kids amongst you. Activities range from kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, paddle boarding, wind surfing and snorkelling on the house reef – you may even spot a turtle or two. Head to Pigeon Island National Park just 3km away, for a beautiful beach set amongst stunning scenery. After sunning yourself on the golden sand and swimming in the azure waters, you can visit the museum or climb to the vantage point of the historic Fort Rodney for awe-inspiring views including that of neighbouring island Martinique. You’ll also find two lovely restaurants and a brilliant rum bar located in the underground warren beneath the fort.
Other notable beaches include the natural black sandy beach of Anse Chastanet, where you can scuba on most of the Island’s beautiful coral reef, or perhaps you’d like to head to Grande Anse 25km south, where you can watch endangered leatherbacks crawl out of the water and lay their eggs on the shores. Or for family fun head to Reduit Beach, where banana boats whiz across the water and beach front bars pump out lively music. It’s also home to Splash Island Water Park, an essential excursion for kids of all ages.
For lively town life, you have Rodney Bay just 4.5km away with its bustling nightlife, attractive marina bursting with supersized yachts, and many bars shops and restaurants. The real vibe however can be found just a few minutes further south in Gros Islet, where the historic streets are lined with rum shops and fishing shacks draped with drying nets, and the sound of reggae can always be heard day and night. Delve into culinary delights such as freshly cut coconut, barbecue chicken and freshly caught cod, and party the night away at a Jump Up – the fabulous rum infused street parties this area is famous for.
No visit to St Lucia is complete without heading to the island’s 19,000 acres of magnificent rainforest 20km south of the villa. With ferns as big as a house, wild orchids, waterfalls, and maybe even a sighting of the endangered St Lucia parrot, hiking on one of its many trails is the perfect way to spend the day. An aerial tram can cake you high above the canopy or for the more adventurous there are three adrenaline-pumping ziplines.
A plethora of activities can be explored throughout the Island. Catch a dollar bus half an hour to St Lucia’s vibrant capital Castries on a Saturday morning, where you’ll find row after row of market stalls, piled high with mouth-watering fruits and spices. Or for avid hikers, perched along the southwest coast and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the dramatic twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton are among the Caribbean island’s most memorable landmarks.
