You’re welcomed into the villa with a spacious lounge and dining room which is open plan and finished with natural stone coloured walls, floors and pops of citrus colours. This light and fresh space is connected to a well-appointed kitchen through a hatch, which is ideally placed to serve meals straight to the dining table. Downstairs also includes a guest toilet, laundry room and patio door access to your delightful outdoor terrace. Also, on the ground floor, is one of Villa Fairwind’s bedrooms. Featuring a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom, two lucky guests can enjoy stepping out directly onto the sun terrace and taking a sneaky dip in the pool.
The other two bedrooms are on the first floor. The master room boasts a king size bed, en-suite bathroom and private balcony. From here, you can reach the raised sun deck. Lie back on a sun lounger and soak up the gorgeous views of the tropical garden and manicured golf course which surround Villa Fairwind, as well as the Caribbean sun. The third room has a queen size bed, en-suite bathroom and stunning views out onto the rolling hills of Cap Estate. Ceiling fans and air conditioning are fitted in all bedrooms for your comfort.
Back down on the lower level, Villa Fairwind’s outdoor terrace is where you can dine al fresco morning, noon and night. The dining table and chairs are shaded from the sun, but you have enough space around your private plunge pool, or on your upper sun deck, for sunbathing in your perfect spot. Your pool is there for cooling off between sun-worshipping sessions, snoozes and leisurely mealtimes. How wonderful! Cleverly designed walls offer privacy from neighbours and additional shade.
Swimmers can head to the communal swimming pool, found at the centre of ‘Villas on the Green’s large terrace, bedecked with sunbeds and umbrellas. This huge pool is open to residents only and accessed from two sets of curved steps. From here, you can admire the lovely sweeping view of the fairway.
Villa Fairwind is luxuriously close to a beautiful, unspoilt beach. Cas En Bas is just a few minutes’ walk and further down the coast, the irresistible attractions and lively atmosphere of Rodney Bay are only a short drive away. Cap Estate’s residential area is called ‘Villas on the Green’ and this is where you’ll find Villa Fairwind. Surrounded by tropical gardens, a pretty stream, rolling hills and the exclusive greens of Saint Lucia Golf and Country Club, this charming villa offers its guests a peaceful and picturesque holiday.
Once you’ve sampled the golf course (it’s tricky!), tennis courts, amazing communal swimming pool and strolled around the beautiful gardens, many adventures await beyond the prestigious community of Cap Estate. The unspoilt beach at Cas En Bas, for example, is just a short walk from Villa Fairwind. Spend serene afternoons beneath the Saint Lucian sun, on the gorgeous white sand or in the sheltered, clear sea. The beach is about a mile long and rarely busy. It’s also a perfect place for kitesurfing or windsurfing, thanks to the broad bay and on-shore winds.
For days out, you’re only about ten minutes’ drive to Rodney Bay, where you can find another, much more up-tempo beach. Reduit Beach – claimed to be the best stretch of coastline for a typical Caribbean beach experience – is the place for inflatable rides, water sports, beach-side bars, reggae music and palm trees! Rodney Bay also has a fabulous, award-winning marina and enormous shopping centre. Clustered around the marina is a tempting choice of restaurants, including Caribbean grills, seafood restaurants, steak houses and international cuisine.
Castries is the capital city of Saint Lucia and worthy of a day trip, as discovered by the many tourists delivered into port by huge international cruise ships.
