Villa Fethi Bey is a charming family-friendly four-bedroom villa on the outskirts of the mountain village of Ovacik in Fethiye, South West Turkey. Nestled between pine trees, the villa is private in peaceful surrounds and enjoys a stunning backdrop of Babadag Mountain and views over the village. In Ölüdeniz & Hisaronu – around 2km from the villa – you’ll find plenty of local restaurants, alongside the popular blue lagoon and sun-drenched beaches stretching uninterrupted along the coastline.
The exterior of Villa Fethi Bey is classically Mediterranean in style with whitewashed walls. It’s set over three floors and boasts cool contemporary furnishings with playful splashes of colour. There’s a comfortable living and dining room with cushioned sofas and chairs, a feature fireplace and doors leading out to the open-air dining area. There’s also a fully-equipped modern kitchen, and it too leads outside for effortless al fresco dining while enjoying the vistas over the pool and terrace area.
There are two double sized bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and en-suites on both the first and second floors. Doors open out onto the roof terraces, where you can sunbathe or sit relaxing with a cooling drink while enjoying the fantastic views. On the ground floor, you’ll find the sun terrace with a private swimming pool and cushioned sun loungers around the edges. The grounds are enclosed by a stone wall and include small grassy spots with plants, shrubs and trees for your privacy.
Set in lush, rural, greenery, this villa is perfect for families who’d like to enjoy a quiet, relaxing holiday in a unique and natural setting. Ideally placed, you’re still within a short drive of seaside resort Ölüdeniz or the livelier port town, Fethiye. There, in the shadow of ancient rock tombs you can wander around the natural harbour or explore the amphitheatre and museum. For walkers the Lycian Way Trail is 1.8km from the villa for serene walking routes,if walking isn’t you thing you could explore the rugged coastline by a boat trip on a traditional wooden gulet.Villa Fethi Bey is on the outskirts of the mountain village Ovacik in southwestern Turkey. Hisaronu bustling centre is within a 15-minute walk, here there are larger supermarkets and a variety of bars and restaurants. There’s also an open-air market on Mondays where you can pick up fresh local food and handmade goods. The vibrant and lively port city of Fethiye is just 10 minutes by car, and there you’ll find a shopping centre, alongside more shops, restaurants and cultural sites. Fethiye has a larger market on Tuesdays.
Fethiye is best known for its natural harbour, blue waters and numerous rock tombs including the 4th-century B.C. Tomb of Amyntas, carved into a rock face and overlooking the city. For foodies, there’s a fish market and other markets that sell everything from rugs to produce. You can sample delicious gözleme (thin dough crepes), chose from the Turkish fayre at the Megri Lokanta and then visit one of the Turkish Baths for a relaxing treat.
Near-shore islands from Fethiye are popular for day trips by boat. In the south, the turquoise lagoon at Ölüdeniz is a prime swimming and water sports spot due to its crystal-clear and calm waters. You can also get there by car or Dolmus (the local bus service). Heading along the coast past Olu Deniz is Butterfly Valley (about 24km from Fethiye) – a serene nature reserve that’s home to diverse butterfly species .
