Four-bedroom Villa Lokum is in the lively village of Hisaronu on Turkey’s beautiful south coast. Sitting pretty at the top of a hill that spills into the resort of Oludeniz, it’s in a perfect quiet position between Hisaronu with its majestic Bagadag mountain backdrop and vibrant Oludeniz with its golden sandy beach and famous blue lagoon with crystal-clear swimming waters.
With four spacious bedrooms –  two doubles and two singles – as well as a large private outdoor swimming pool, children’s playground and pool table – Villa Lokum is the perfect choice for families. The villa is decorated modern in style and is sure to brighten up your day with its vibrant colours that are dotted around the property. Think hot pink umbrellas and yellow, green and purple lighting.
Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the villa create that extra feeling of light and space and flood the rooms with beautiful natural light. Survey the idyllic surrounds from your bedroom’s balcony, take a cooling dip in the swimming pool or find your prime garden spot in the sun or the shade. The luxurious loungers are cushioned for a sink-into feel – we’ll forgive you if you spend all afternoon there – and there’s a shaded al fresco dining table for enjoying the rural views with your meals.
Inside, the comfort continues with a fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining room with stylish sofas and a wooden dining table that’s ideally positioned next to the window. Bedrooms elegantly mix contemporary with traditional, featuring light grey walls, tiled floors and wooden furniture. Extra touches like plasma televisions and large mirrors create a homely feel, and the bathrooms have fun port-hole-style windows, sleek stainless steel fittings and playful geometric wall patterns.
With local restaurants and markets within a short walk, Villa Lokum is ideally placed. Jump on the dolmus bus to explore the popular nearby towns of Oludeniz and Fethiye with historic sites and sandy swimming beaches, or take the 1km stroll into Hisaronu centre with wonderful views of the Taurus Mountains and access to the Lycian Way, a trail that traverses the countryside and coast.

Hisaronu is a mini-resort perched on a mountain plateau, overlooking the famous Oludeniz blue lagoon and is a short drive from the vibrant port town of Fethiye with a boat-lined harbour and impressive rock tombs carved into the mountains. Lively and friendly Hisaronu is packed with shops and restaurants catering for every taste.
Hisaronu comes alive after dark as visitors and locals head to the bars or restaurants. There’s also a market every Monday where you can pick up everything from clothes to souvenirs and spices.
For the outdoor adventurers, Hisaronu is close to the popular Lycian Way Trail –  a series of scenic trails that traverse the mountains and the coastline. The paths go to interesting sites like Kayaköy ghost village. You could also go to the ancient site of Tlos where Lycian and Roman ruins intermingle with mountain village life, and you’ll enjoy breath-taking views over Xanthos valley. For adrenaline junkies, paragliding from the Bagadag mountain is a favourite past-time.  
Although Hisaronu doesn’t have its own beach, the Blue Lagoon at Oludeniz is about 4km away – and there’s a regular Dolmus (local bus) between the two. The conservation area is known for its sparkling waters that are calm and crystal-clear – perfect for swimming and snorkelling. You’ll also find canoes and pedaloes on the waterfront, and plenty of cafés serving up drinks and snacks. You could also head to sandy Belcekiz beach with an impressive backdrop of the Bagadag mountains.
Fethiye is about a 15-minute bus ride away and is well worth a visit for a taste of traditional Turkey. If you head to the old quarter, you can explore the cobbled streets, mosques and the jumble of shops selling locally-crafted ceramics, jewellery, leather goods and carpets.
