Villa La Duca Italy
Holiday Home Rental Description
Villa La Duca is set in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, the most sought-after and photographed valley in Tuscany! Sitting on a large estate there are breathtaking views surrounding the villa with Tarugi Tower perched dramatically on a nearby hill.
The décor is luxurious with natural fabrics, antique furniture, whimsical pieces and perfectly curated art. Exposed beams, stone arches and terracotta tiles give the villa a beautiful rustic ambience. All six bedrooms are elegantly furnished and come with their own private bathroom. In the evenings everyone can come together around the piano for a singalong, the fire keeping the villa nice and toasty. The kitchen is an amateur chef’s dream with two ovens, 10 burners and 3 refrigerators; with direct access to the garden, dinner parties are a breeze.
Stepping outside, the estate has several furnished areas for socialising and an immaculate 18 metre heated swimming pool. Enjoy a barbecue at dusk, trying your hand at an authentic wood-fired pizza in the outdoor oven then pop some bubbles and jump in the Jacuzzi.
The property is close to lots of pretty little towns making Villa La Duca the perfect base for exploring this incredible part of Tuscany. While the property is extremely quiet and relaxing there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities in the surrounding area for the explorers.
A short drive away…
Contignano (4 km) has been hosting the Festival of Ravioli since 1971 and the delicate handmade parcels are stuffed with the creamiest ricotta, locally sourced from surrounding dairy farms.
Chianciano Terme (9 km) offers visitors rejuvenating thermal spas and natural pools, the ultimate in pampering day trips.
Montepulciano (12 km) is a wine town most well-known producing robust Vino Nobile. It sits high on a hill with impressive views over the Val di Chiana and Val d’Orcia. Every August Montepulciano hosts the Calici di Stelle market, with local vendors lining the streets showcasing wines of the region, traditional dishes and art by great contemporary artists.
Pienza (13 km) is the perfect example of Renaissance architecture, rebuilt using a Renaissance Humanist urban design concept. Pienza’s creation of the “ideal town” has played an important role in subsequent urban development in Italy and beyond and for this reason is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its pecorino Pienza holds a cheese festival every September with cheese rolling competitions always a mainstay of the festival program.
